This is so awesome! I will probably grab one of these either this season, or next season. My heater appears to be incompatible with the Afterburner, and all I really wanted was a thermostat for my garage that would actually turn the unit off, without building anything crazy. Thank you for building a simple RF transmitter that can be programmed. I was looking into WIFI RF devices but it was getting either expensive or convoluted.

I have 4 different Chinese Diesel Heaters. Unfortunately the one that I installed has a Rotary Display/Control that talks, (It says "WELCOME TO USED OUR HEATER.... START HEATING LEVEL 10 when I start it up. When I lower the Fan Speed/Heating level (Rotary Dial on the Display/Controller) it will say LEVEL 3 or LEVEL 1 (whichever I chose!) I have never seen one like this before and I cannot find any information on it at all ! And all I can do with it is turn it On and Off and choose between Level 10 and Level 1 heat.. It did come with a Remote that looks like the one your device is compatible with BUT I have no idea how to Pair that Remote with my Controller, so it is no use to me. I installed this unit in my van as it works fine... just very inconvenient. What do you suggest. I will probably buy a few of your devices as I am sure I will be able to use them with some of these Chinese Diesel Heaters ! Liked/Subscribed !

mine will not start cdh when screen shows heating. I can start with OEM remote and the BURREK will shut down cdh when temp is reached and heating is removed. It also will stop it if I long press to deactivate thermostat. My guess is the Burrek does not provide a 3+ second on output as is needed with my OEM remote. Off only needs 1Sec.

Just got mine and as I’m more used to Celsius than Fahrenheit, I opted for that. I’ve now gone back to Fahrenheit as 1 degree F gives far more precise control than 1 degree C. Not a problem as I just wrote down comparable temperatures until I’m familiar again. To be honest once it’s set up it doesn’t really matter. So far it’s working well and the room it heats in my house was warm first thing this morning as I’d scheduled the heating for 30 mins before my normal time to feed my dogs. I’ve just ordered a second one without battery for an outside room that could do with a bit of frost protection but which has a power supply close to where the thermostat will go. From me it’s 👍

It uses a lithium polymer cell. You could certainly replace the battery. It can't be any smaller than 500mah as that would result in it charging above 1C which would damage the cell. You also would need to make sure you find one that can fit in the compartment on the back of the unit. We don't currently sell the batteries separately. You can reach out directly through our email if you ever need to do this and we can figure something out. [email protected]

@loweredexpectations4927

It will work from a considerable distance, but you need it close enough so that it detects temperature where your heater is located. If you have the thermostat in your house, and the heater in your shed, it will turn on and off based on the temperature in your house, not the temperature in your shed. The device has the thermostat in it, it is the thermostat, so it needs to be near the heat source.

No from what I gather it causes the controller to cycle on and off. Based on what ever heat setting you wanted. Do like a 23 or 4 and degree differences in temperature. It will cause your heater to fully turn on and off. As opposed to just reduce its heat to the lowest setting. It will psychology self the power the fan the fuel pump and completely shut it down until the temperature in the room lowers to a set point 2° to 4° and then it will turn on again.
@markdoesstuff2023

I have received one. I must admit, the swing side of things confused me at first. Even your explanatory video above wasn't clear on this issue. By the looks of it, you simply set the temp and if reached the heater turns off. Should things cool down to the lower setting (the swing) , it turns back on again. This shouldn't have confused me at all. Improved instructions are called for, I reckon. As far as the accuracy of the thermostat is concerned, maybe it would be a better option to have the sensor at the end of a length of cable. The battery charging wouldn't affect it then either. Just a thought. The device should work well for me though.

This is about 4 years too late for me. I use a CD heater in a small out building and had to make a thermostat interface to turn the heater on and off. Because we lose power from time to time here I made the interface to monitor the line voltage and not come on when the power was off. If the heater is running then it will shut off when the temperature is reached. The circuit also monitors the battery voltage that the heater is running on so that when the battery voltage drops below a safe value it will not start the heater. (the battery is charged by a battery tender). The circuit uses the 4 button remote to control the heater. I have found that some times the on or off signal is not received by the heater so that the circuit repeats the command every few minutes.

A few questions, please… 1) So the difference between the remote controllers on amazon and your remote is that the controllers on amazon don’t have built in thermostats whereas yours does? 2) If temps are 10 degrees Fahrenheit outside and I’m away from my van for the day snowboarding, what temperature would you set the thermostat at so the water tanks and pipes inside my van don’t freeze? 3) Do you have any recommendations for specific Chinese diesel heaters that work really well at +-10,000 feet? (I will probably buy from Amazon.) 4) Is it ok to put the remote in the fridge for a few minutes after charging to speed up the cooling process? Thanks!
@loweredexpectations4927

Hello Joe. The difference between the Burek controllers and almost all other controllers, is that it offers a LOT more control options. One of the main features is that it is an actual thermostat control. Most other controllers will tell you what the temp is in your camper or truck, but they will not actually turn the heater off or on automatically. Some heaters only have the ability to apply a heat output setting. Meaning you set your heater to setting 5 and it burns 2.4 (ish) litres in 12 hours ... it doesn't care what the temperature is. Your pipes may freeze or it may be 100F when you get back. Some "smarter" controllers have a smart setting and they attempt to maintain the temperature, however, they never turn off. If you have your heater set to 75F, and the camper gets up to 100F, the heater just goes to the lowest setting and will burn 1.5 litres in 12 hours. The Burek controller, like your home thermostat, actually turns the heater on and off based on what temp you have set. For those who want more control, it also allows you to set how far the temp has to change before the heater will come back on. So, you set it to 75F and the heater turns off at 75, but you can allow it to cool off to 55 before the heater turns back on again. This is VERY useful, as you don't' want the heater turning on and off 20 times an hour... If you take a look at my channel, I have tested some VEVOR heaters and I am about to release a video about a Bluetooth version. I just figured out that it has a thermostat feature ( like your house ) and hope to have a video up tomorrow. The prices are very competitive and I have torture tested a few of these units. If you have questions feel free to drop me a comment on my channel. I do my best to answer everyone. PS. I am not affiliated with Burek, but they have shipped me one of their remotes and I will be making a video about it. Cheers !

1) Yes, the remotes that come with these heaters do not have built in thermostat functionality. Our unit is basically a thermostat that cycles the heater on and off as necessary . 2) I would recommend setting the thermostat to 45 degrees with a swing of 8 degrees. This would mean the heater kicks on at 37 degrees and shuts off at 45 degrees. Plenty warm to keep pipes from freezing with a 5 degree buffer. 3) You need to buy a heater with a simple remote control, without the LCD on the little remote. Otherwise it's not too important. The quality varies minimally between manufacturers, the important thing is getting hard nylon for the fuel pump and quality hose clamps for the fuel lines. You will see a significant quality jump if you purchase a lavener heater. 4) The device should cool down within 20 minutes, this shouldn't be necessary.

@@bureckllc Thanks for replying!🤙🏼 Two more questions, please… 1) So all of the Chinese diesel heaters still work well at 10,000+ feet? 2) Any downside to buying one of the all-in-one heaters that come with the case? Thanks again.
@bureckllc
10 ай бұрын
1) I'm sorry, I skimmed your question the first time. I thought you were just asking about quality differences. I do not actually know of any Chinese heaters that are known to work at 10,000+ feet. Maybe if you tune them right but this sounds a bit extreme. Make sure you get one with Plateau Mode if you decide to try this. There might be some specific ones capable of this but my understanding is most of them are not rated for use above 5000 feet. 2) Just depends on what you want. If you don't want it permanently installed and would prefer it to be portable, this could be nice. The biggest downside is the tanks are really small. You'll be constantly adding diesel to the stock tank if you use it for any length of time. And you will still need a way to either pipe the exhaust out, or pipe heated air in. @@joeblow1942

@@bureckllc Good points about the heaters in cases having small tanks. Thanks. The reason I need a heater that works in high altitudes is so I can leave it on low while I ski or snowboard so the water tanks and pipes INSIDE my van don’t freeze. For example; Mammoth town is approximately 7,800 feet above sea level, and the elevation at the base of Mammoth Mountain near the Main Lodge (where the parking lot is) is 9,000 feet. There are so many van lifers around now, I wonder what they do when they stay in ski resorts to avoid freezing their internal tanks, pipes and arses off at high altitudes?
