simple question why did my new tattoo turn into another color i got a sky blue and then in the 3rd week turn to a light navy blue and now its about a month is this the stage of a healing discoloration tattoo? do color tattoos take longer to heal?

I'm curious about the mixing solution that keeps being mentioned. Would you be able to recommend a certain product or brand name and a brief explanation on when it's necessary to use? As well as the difference, if any, of just dipping into water?

Hi Mario, Just wanted to say I appreciate the way you explain your steps and techniques. A lot of it really makes a lot of sense. I will definitely have a lot of questions in the near future and I will aim to be more structured. Thanks man.

Im just going to straight up say anyone who says that any ink is the best ink period is a fucking idiot....PIGMENTS (is what they are called) come in different consistencies and depending on your STROKE TYPE AND HAND SPEED the ink will either go in well or not fucking go in at all. So to those of you claiming you know what you are doing need to stop buying stuff just because you saw it on NY ink or Inkmasters and learn how to tattoo.

well seeing what experts are using is a good indiction for what is good. There is a lot of crap ink on the market so taking hints from high level artists is a very good idea. The bulk of my ink inventory is from Intenze. I used a cheaper stuff in the past and its apparent why cheap is cheap

try starting your midtones first, then pull you lightest values into that. also keep the hand moving!! that helps take the "scratches" into "peppering" which is way less noticeable. Also try using bugpin needles. They are a smaller diameter than the standard needles, which make smaller holes in the skin. That helps as well

My advice is bring in a strong portfolio of your BEST artwork. Either drawings or paintings. If you have natural talent and motivation, most places won't turn you down. They will see dollar signs.

Thank you for doing this video - I've been tattooing 5 years and have yet to do a portrait. Now have 2 coming up and I'm SO nervous! Before tattooing, I was a portrait artist for 20 years in charcoals, acrylics, and gouache. Drawing people realistically has always been my very favorite thing to do as an artist, and I've wondered how tattooing portraits would be the same to drawing them. This really helps - thanks! :0)

That was a good question, I had the same one. Around 7:10 in the video he explains that he dips the needle in water to clean it. Like a paint brush. I love this technique. My style will transfer well to tattooing:)

About Jordan Garcia Hes right not every tattoo artist uses this method because it also depends on your hand speed and technic Im out here in LOs Angeles and Ive seen some bad ass tattoos with just black solid ink every one developes there skill there own way thats why its confusing at times some things work for some but not for all
