keep on doing it...startwith just the paradiddle only, than doubleparadiddle alone, and than combine them...triple paradiddle alone and than all together in a relaxed manner.. practice makes perfect

In addition to that you can also practice the whole combination separately at a different speed and slowly work up the tempo until you have it

Awesome!!! 👍 How long did it take you to play that fast?
@lucacasagranda3806
4 ай бұрын
to be honest I've never studied this warmup from slow to fast - I mean the usual way - because I've discovered it when my technique already allowed me to play that fast. Many years spent on other material...rudiments, marching etc...But I really like the sequence and I believe it's a really good way to improve your technique - of course starting slow to gain control on your way to getting fast. Be patient and enjoy the process, the results will certanly arrive! good luck!

Hi Luca, just came by again, it’s always a pleasure both for the ears AND eyes! The thing I struggle most with are.. doubles. 😑 Do you have any tip how to improve proper doubles?
@lucacasagranda3806
2 ай бұрын
@@stefanmuller3435 start playing doubles with your fulcrum only (thumb and index)... understand the fact that two strokes are made with just one single wrist movement...it's all about rebound control...when it's done, add the other fingers but don't change anything about the sound and the rhythm...that's the basics! Then you can utilize all the fingers to play stronger doubles but don't do it if you can't play proper doubles with your fulcrum...enjoy and good luck!

It's cool to practice with you. Observing your decontraction and finger technique was a source of inspiration in my own practice. Because I used to rely too much on my wrists, it resulted in causing twitching, pain and finally blockages in speed... Thank you very much.

Friendly suggestion: Vary the volume, (soft, medium, loud), make left and right hands sound exactly the same, and then this will be more musical and really good (it’s a long time ago so I’m sure you’ve gotten that together)-Tommy seems to play everything loud-that’s not music

That’s all good, you can slow down the video and really watch what he’s doing with his hands. Then you can practice that on your own at a slow tempo on the metronome, and build up to the speed in the video. 👍🏼 that’s what I did this summer when I learned the intermediate video.

we all wished we had the patience as well... at some point, we got sick of the ceiling that appeared. Sure, some of us could trial and error our way through it... but why reinvent the wheel. So we said, I will take as long as needed, and accept learning new things, things we would suck at (for a bit), and each day it would get better. Before you know it, a year... 2 years, 10 years goes by. Don't short change your self any longer. Cultivate the patience. No one is born with it. good luck man, and much love to a fellow drummer
