After all the work removing the grouting surely just applying a good grout mix as was taken out would last another amount of years...

Don't use this if your house is south facing. The lead pointing sealant failed during summer hot days. It became weak and was cracking

Hi @4k3el, what is the alternative? I have exactly the same issue. It cracked in time and let the water go inside.

If the lead flashing is currently painted and peeling should you sand it before using the patination oil or what is the best thing to do?

I have used the Souldal equivalent lead sealant and it works very well, better than mortar.Just make sure the area is very clean,no dust or dirt.Very sticky stuff.White spirit does take it of if you get it on your hands or anywhere else.

Very good video, something I will need to do after the wettest February in the history. Just one comment - instead of saying 'mil' say 'millimeter' as that's the correct terminology. Mil isn't really a word, just a prefex and can mean milliliters, milligrams etc.
