I did exactly this and they all work great but my drivers side headlight. No matter what I do, that connection stays loose and my headlight flickers on and off. I've tried redoing the connection several times and I've even added dielectric grease but it still flickers. Both the ground and the power wire wiggle in the connection. All other lights are working great. Do you have any suggestions?

@@stuartgibbs5825 you might want to try hardwiring it if you’re having a loose connection problem. Possibly cut both wires and crimp them together

@autolapse3693 I went ahead and zip tide the wires together to clean up the extra length like you did and since that caused the wire to now touch the connector all the time properly, no more issue....for now. If the problem comes back, I will turn try cutting and crimping. Thanks for responding

Bro great video!! Prior to starting this replacement, did you extract any coolant out of the expansion tank? I have a 2018 and want to install the coolant catch pan from 1level but it's pricey AF. Do you know if BMW made the expansion tanks better quality?
@autolapse3693
8 ай бұрын
I did not extract coolant before replacement but that’s always a good idea to make things less messy. The last two I put in had minor revisions so I think they slightly updated the part with a drain tube that directs leaking coolant towards the back of the engine instead of onto the coils/injectors. But time will tell if they are still prone to failure

@@autolapse3693 Those aftermarket solutions cost a fortune. For example, the Level Performance Coolant Catch Pan is close to 700 dollars, which is like 4 times the price of an OEM expansion tank. So you're right, you're much better off just opening the hood once a month and check if you have a leak and have it replaced when needed. It took me 1,5 years of ownership and 14k miles before I got my first leak, so approx 250 dollars every 1,5 years if you have it replaced by a dealer.

hey i know this is a old post... i had bought a led kit with ballasts for my 1995 convertible and it was expensive...my problem was true it was much brighter, but not focused...so interstate signs glowed bright but my driving lights sucked as well as brights...could see better with old ones...these seem better...although my fog lights were awesome until one came loose and burned my 2002 TA fog light housing.... I tried to click your link to purchase, but it will not load and says it is no longer available...Id like for you or others to provide me with a reliable trustworthy link that sells the kit including fog lights that actually work at a reasonable price or give me the part numbers so I can try and find them... Does anyone know where to get small parts? I have a 94 as well. My dad gave it too me because he got a new truck. It's the truck I was raised in and my dad put his soul into. I want to restore the looks because it's mechanical like brand new. However the inside shows it's age and the paint. First time doing something like this and I want to surprise him with. Missing a lot of little clips. Headliner is toast. Carpet is worn through. Paint is too metal. Not sure how to tackle it.

I didn’t come across one website that had everything Dakota related. It’s a lot of googling parts and comparing to make sure you’re getting what you need. eBay seems to have a fair bit of things you’ll likely need but regardless it’s a lot of time and effort to find everything and actually install it all. But it’s possible, I rec starting with a few small items to get the ball rolling and go from there
