70 Miata’s on track at once was not a good idea… 10% of the grid didn’t make it to turn 5!

When I used to race in the SCCA the two classes I would never race in were spec Miata and spec racer Ford, basically you needed an auto body man on retainer for those series. SM drivers must have grown up driving bumper cars in the arcade, just horrible. When the cars are so evenly matched it causes you to take every opportunity, no mater how risky, to try and pass or get an advantage. This breeds crashes because of over aggressive driving.

You passed my son Jason in car 76 at about the 10 minute mark. Fun video. Good driving. Well done. 😊

Who ever the moron is that decided to let 400 hundred cars race at once needs to be fired. How greedy do you have to be to overlook the obvious safety and operational considerations?

Almost, great driving, but you need to find another series, that field size is nuts.

Very race with Miata’s seems to have this. Whomever makes reproduction parts for these cars will be laughing to the bank for years.

It's been like this ever since the class was created. In a club race you might get though a race with only minor contact but in a SCCA Major race you have to many drivers who think they are Mario or Senna. Or perhaps Ray Charles!
