I have that same etching in 2 of my cars. I've used Maguires Ultra cut compound and the yellow hexlogic pad to buff/polish them out and they disappear for about a week, then they are visible again. I think I'm gonna have to take them in and get wet sanded, I don't trust myself to do that :( I wonder if the glass stuff works any better?

This is ETCHING, not water spots. This is not a fair video whatsoever. Not accurate. No “product” is going to remove etching into the clearcoat. It needs POLISHING / COMPOUND. To OP….I’d refrain from posting anything else that you don’t really know about. This is the same as having a scratch down to the metal and complaining that the world’s best rubbing compound isn’t “removing” the scratch.

Just bought some and had the same results with the same product. My truck is black and almost a year old. Water spots just recently started appearing. I also bought the glass water spot remover and worked well on my trucks glass, but did not work on my shower doors. Paid a lot of money for the paint water spot remover for it not to work. I will also post a video of the product being used in a few days.

There isn’t a chemical in the world that will remove stage 3 water spots. They’re etched into the clear, so physical damage. Physical damage is only fixed with paint correction.

Those are no longer water spots. Those spots were left on the paint too long and they are now etched. After etching, no spot remover will work. It will take a polish, rubbing compound or if very deep, wet sanding to remove them appropriately. I've done detailing/paint correction for 12 years professionally and have run into quite a few vehicles in that condition. Good luck with it all!

@@rass239 Me too. It's a fun business and very rewarding. I'm sure there are certain circumstances that keep this product from working, but I personally haven't found a water spot that it couldn't remove. In Southeast Georgia they get pretty bad. It has been very effective for me. I've never heard of "Winger", but I will look into it and see if it's any decent. I'm always open to try new products. I still stand behind my assessment that those seem to be etched into the clearcoat, but if they aren't, oops. Based on how the edge of the spots was all that remained, that's usually a dead give away that it is etched and will have to be removed via abrasive measures. Good luck with everything!

I have not used this product. I did read the instructions online and it did say to apply and let's sit for 10 seconds. It did not say to rub the area like rubbing compound. It appears from your video that you did not allow the chemical compound to sit on the surface, to be left undisturbed in order to interact properly. I think it was a great demonstration on how to make the product fail however. By doing so you succeeded.

You must have received a bad batch, I used it today on some heavy water spots that had been baked in over the last few years. Soaked a terry cloth applicator block and worked the product in for less then a minute and the water spots are gone. Normally my go-to product for water spots as bad as Starke Yacht Care Venom, it wouldn't touch them.

The spots have etched into the clearcoat. The product does actually remove water spots, but these have eaten into the clearcoat and must be removed via polish, rubbing compound or wet sanding. Maybe even all three if it is too deep. Sud Factory made it clear in a few of their videos that this will not remove etched spots. Unfortunately, most people don't know the difference.

Exactly. I had gotten a Type R from CoPart that sat for months on sand and it had water sports all over the windows. Suds Factory was the only product that removed all the spots. Currently going to use the paint version on my 2023 Hrv Sport since it came with a few water spots from the dealer.

Worked amazingly on my car. I had some of the worst hard water hit my car every night for months on end due to were I had to park... it was HORRID. It slowly faded over time, but it still looked really bad... 3 years later still there and thought it was deep in the paint and it was ruined. Just used it today and it got rid of the water spots completely, no sign of spots and the paint looks great.

@@rass239 if you found something better than sudfactory, let me know, so far it works for me, I live in GA, very hard water, I'm able to remove new water spots easy, but you right, on my older car the only way is to remove it is buffing it
@almincastillo8458
3 жыл бұрын
@@ArturKSMR The best way to use it is let it sit on the surface for about a minute then wipe it away, sometimes need to let it sit for little longer for it to work it's way into the water spots. If it doesn't come off after couple applications, the water spots are more than likely etched into the clear coat which is a physical damage and is compromised, will require buffing to that extent to remove micron layers of problematic areas. Our experience is the same, it removes all the water spots that are still on the surface and did not damage the clear coat and paint. This will prevent the paint damages from happening when used early on, definitely recommended to get! Hope this helps anyone reading!
