Great videos. I always watch the UK mock tests and driving lessons but as I am from Dublin too I am glad to see someone doing videos like this for Ireland. Not many For these kinds of videos it would be better if you don't show the answer with the sign so viewers (like me) can have a guess before you show the answer

Thank you very much for sharing your experience in this video! found it very useful and will definitely watch it again and again. My instructor’s car is a Nissan juke and the parking brake will be released while adding gas when moving off. This video did help me know how to use the “gas > bite” method for Juke for a quicker start up (hasn’t covered this skill by my instructor for the moment) 🍀😃
@virtualdrivinginstructor
21 күн бұрын
You're very welcome! the Nissans can have a very sensitive accelerator... so press gently if this is the case for you as a little does a lot. if it's a disel, you may not need as much gas as they usually have great torque, which aids in a nice move off 😊 we have some on gears coming very, very soon 🙏

Really should have been stated in the video, but the signal points directly into the side of the road, and being stationary, that means something completely different than someone driving up to a turn.

I passed my test here in Ireland🇮🇪(Mullingar) on 4th time, but hey people do not forget.Yes it's great when you pass your test from the very 1st time, and save all extra money,time, etc..Don't get me wrong, but it's even better on other hand when u pass from 2,3rd..coz you gonna LEARN and fix these mistakes. After passing the test, don't try to be boss and thinking you owning the road and showing your friends you finally have licence, be smart, be good driver. Never give up if or after/ you fail. NEVER STOP LEARNING !
@virtualdrivinginstructor

@@virtualdrivinginstructor Thank you for your lovely words☺️.Exactly, even though we all might drive the same road xxxx times a day, week, as you mention, there will be always some odd situation that can appear from nowhere. Yes indeed i did.After passing my test i still did not feel confident in myself as much as i was really happy to have my 1st driving licence. Wasn't suprised with myself as i was NEW driver on the road and i knew(as beginner) how to drive but still i was bit careful.I learned as much as I drive on the road, i gonna be better and better, and that's the truth.I can say ,I am more confident(now it's over a year since i passed and it took me 2 months at least-after passing) and i still drive by rules.I mean, within speed limits.I know a very few people after passing the test, they think they owning the road and they drive like they want, blabla..but i wanna be safe driver as much as possible. 1 more year and N-plate is gone🥳.

Is the jumpy gear change going to cause havoc on my transmission or another part?
@virtualdrivinginstructor
Ай бұрын
yes! but won't destroy it immediately, but wear over time. A jumpy car is when the speed of your wheel is faster than the speed of the gear your selecting. the lower our speed is dropping gears the closer to the same speed they are which creats a smooth connection between the engine and the gears/wheels 🙏

Though I was in a 150hp race car and went to get off an exit doing 80 and downshifted from 5th gear to what I thought was 4th . Turns out it was 2nd gear . And it also turns out after you do that the engine starts to knock really loud and doesn’t go away . I made it home about a mile but for some reason the engine didn’t want to start after that…..

I believe that you can wait on the yellow boxes as long as you're turning right, just like the guy did.
