just curious what type of room you’re staying in? traditional or the suite?

This really takes me back to my days, or rather, years at Trent. I went to study at Trent University way back in the year of 1974. I live in the UK. How years have flown by! There is a tinge of sadness knowing those years of youth and innocence shall never be visited upon. When you're young and in the vibrancy of youth, you look forward to years of adventure, dreams, romance and goals. You never think you will get old. But when the autumn of one's years arrives, there is nothing to look forward but back upon old memories. Thank you for making this video, Hailey. 'How the Soul aches to touch for that brief moment in Infinity the Love and Beauty beyond all expression - unseen beneath the surface tapestry of Life. 'How one’s heart yearns to be the focus of her sweet loving gaze - like the warmth of sun’s rays; to touch her hand and feel her velvet skin; to touch lips and seal a promise made. 'Alas, with heavy heart and lonely steps, the reality of cold hard pavements amid lonely streets beat upon the corridors of memory. The Soul aches for warmth and love felt behind the Silence of majestic scenery and moving melodies - an echo of a teasing dream. 'How cruel for the heart to whisper and weep for that which the body can touch and feel no more, but sleeps.' - Dennis W Rowntree

You did a great job on the video. Are there any items you wish you'd brought from home?

Hey Erin! Thank you so much! Honestly, I just packed what whatever I thought I needed from home and that just all pertains to you and what you feel like will make you the most comfortable during your stay in res! Don't over think your packing too much just keep it to the basics because don't forget after the 8 months your gonna have to pack it all back up again! I hope this helped you!

@@haileyroden9118 Thank you for your reply. I am a parent of a potential future student there. We are coming up to Peterborough over March Break to check things out. It seems like a tonne of concrete is used no matter which residence is chosen. I saw you have lots of blankets, is it super cold in there? You said in your video that you will be staying with friends next year. Would you recommend a new student try roommates 1st year or wait for 2nd year to decide? I would love to see the different room set-ups (single/twin/triple) of the different residences. Ugh, so many questions!!!!

@@erinjune2234 Oh amazing! Yes totally suggest coming up during March break to get a feel for the campus! Will you be joining us for the open house? I will actually be one of the student volunteers that will be showing my room during our open house so if you decide to come during that time I hope you will be able to see the room and building in person! In regards to the concrete, yes both buildings on the west bank (Champlain and Lady Eaton) are primarily made out of stone and concrete but that simply just has to do with the history of the buildings as they are both over 50 years old and Trent's oldest residence buildings! It really has a nice inside-outside feel to the place but once you are in an actual room you won't see any concrete, the walls are actually texturized and gives it a more homey feel!!! I do have a lot of blankets but that's just my personal preference, I love a lot of blankets on the bed just to feel cozy! But yes it can get pretty cold up here just like any other place but all the buildings are heated so once you are inside it's nice and warm for you :) I would totally suggest for any first-year student to try living in a room by themselves, it is a great escape just for some head space but I met all of my friends from living on res and met the two other girls that I will be living with next year off of campus! Once again, I hope you will be joining us for our open house on March 15th that way you will totally be able to see all of the different and amazing rooms here on campus and really get a better idea for what life is like here at Trent :)
