As a HUGE Thrice fan, this was a birthday gift I didn't know I got until I stumbled on this channel 5 months later. Seriously, this was posted on my 22nd birthday!

Thanks!! It's a Darkglass Alpha Omicron pedal going into Logic, using one of the stock amp sims, specifically the 'Classic Amp' model, and tweaked settings and applied EQ from there. On the whole album I'm using the P bass pickup, except for the end of Don't Tell and We Won't ask, where I'm using the J bass pickup

So awesome! As a woodwind player, I’ll always be in awe of string/guitar players. So many more finger placements and so so cool 🎉

Thanks!! I'm also always impressed by woodwinds, the mechanics of the instrument are so different, and having to control breathing while also playing adds a whole other dimension to it

what's the time signature in the beginning?
@ccrich

Honestly I'm not 100% sure, I think there's a couple of different ways of counting it but the easiest/simplest way I always thought of it was those beats being a slight slow in tempo from the rest of the measure, but I'm not sure how 'correct' that is. There's a video of Emma giving a lesson on the intro and she describes it as a bar of 3/4 and a bar of 3/16 and back into 4/4, but she also said she just feels it out so I'm not sure how accurate that is either haha
