Haha! Sounds like a number of things dude! Broken valve rod knock... who knows what else, more than just a spin rod. sounds like you ran it with the wrong fluid or no oil well after listening again it does just sound like a spun rod bearing. Take the pan off and sand down the crank journals real good replace them and I think you're supposed to put a certain line on them for initial start up, and make sure you blow out the oil lines they might be clogged having caused that.

Jeffrey Roy Jr I’ve had an 03 Durango with the 4.7. Your issue is going to be the common 4.7 valve train issue. It cost me 45 dollars to fix mine. They are notorious for rocker arms falling off. I thought mine was a rod knock until I took the valve cover off. Most common is cylinder 2 which is right behind the oil fill. Easy fix to do at home.. I had less than 2 hours into it and drove it another 35k miles before I sold it and the people that bought it are still driving it. Hope this advice gives you an idea of where to start

....so what was the issue? I have the same noise in my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have done a sea foam flush; changed lifters, head gasket, valve cover gasket, set rocker tension, replaced intake/exhaust manifold gasket, spark plugs and distributor, starter, tightened flex plate bolts and the noise is still present.... my jeep just sits because I now think it is a bad wrist pin; broken piston skirt, bad timing chain or something else. I’m about to junk this truck at this point but if I could get insight as to what is making this noise (because this is exactly what my truck sound like) I would appreciate it. Thank you

Not Sure thank you.. but as far as this guy knows, old boy changes his oil religiously. I've worked for GM/Cadillac, Chrysler, and MB for 29 years. But seriously thank you for pointing out the mileage.

The squeaking is the metal to metal of the crank and rod getting hot and wanting to stop but it takes a lot to actually stop the motor so normally by the time it doess ever just stop the damage to everything is catastrophic

+shane clark yeah spinning bearings to be a little more specific but thats usually because of poor maintenance or a dent in the oil pan. i did this by buying the car and promptly doing 160 on the highway for lapse of time. as long as you replace the oil pump at 120k and change the oil they go for a long time
@thepredator4480

lol funny you ask its in the description! i went to the auto parts store, bought a magnaflow universal high flow cat (2.25? i believe? maybe 2.5?" and a thrush WELDED muffler, (you have to get the welded series the turbo and other bs is shit. the thrush welded is identical to a flowmaster but cheaper.) with iirc a center inlet and an offset outlet (2 1/4) and took the truck to midas and had them custom make the exhaust, from the down pipe, to the cat, back to the muffler and exiting behind the passenger rear tire. 2.25 pipe. only other mod was an air silencer delete and a k&n panel filter
