Oh my God, I thought that this was lost to time! Mary Renault is a writer I cherish since I started reading her in the Lockdown in 2020, with “The Last of the Wine”. Those books changed my life and saved it. As a gay adult, I wish I had read them when I was a teenager, when I needed them most

Thanks so much for posting this! One of my favorite authors. I revisit the Last of the Wine often, even though I know it's going to break my heart all over again. I'd also like to put in a word for the Praise Singer...a late comer that often gets overlooked. I love the imagery of Pisistratus' stone house on the Acropolis and some great insights into the details of the period.

A well done documentary! I was curious to see that a literary biography has been done on her (titled 'Mary Renault') for those who are interested to know more.
