Just purchased this radio and everyone was right that volume WILL change on its own, the very first day it started doing it, also I never figured out how to watch movies on it because simply grounding it didn’t work. Other than that it’s really good

Hey there, if you’re still active on this channel is there any way you could help me out? I just got this same radio/head unit for my 2016 Jeep Patriot and I feel somewhat confident installing it myself after tons of research, etc. However, when I initially paid someone to install it for me, “no problem” it soon turned into a HUGE problem to where they couldn’t even hook my stock radio back up. Anyways, so I just wanted to see if I could maybe pick your brain for the last few questions I have regarding ordering the adapter piece, etc. TIA!! 😊

Did you not install the reverse camera? A video of that would be helpful. That smaller harness with the camera wiring is confusing. I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado but those colors and features did not exist 22 years ago. Not sure what to do with it at this point. I notice in other videos they simply install the video cable and DC 12V into the reverse lights. Those installs don't have a head unit with that third harness though.

I bought a radio from Crutchfield and paid the $25 for them to wire up the harness for my vehicle to the harness on the radio. Best $25 I ever spent! Totally plug and play!

I'm considering getting this receiver for my 06 Xterra. There are mixed reviews on this product. I really like that it has a bigger screen than the usual 6.2, front aux, and decent wattage. How has your experience been thus far?

The audio is super crisp from this head unit relative to the stock head unit. No complaints on the audio quality/adjustability. The head unit did forget its audio and time settings a couple times, however I was modifying other parts of the vehicle so the power could have cut out from the battery. Since installing the unit, I have also installed a second battery to run subwoofers and so far it has never lost the setting's memory again. The only REAL complaint I have is that the volume knob rotary switch isn't great, and occasionally the radio will increase the volume by itself when I didn't want it to. Doesn't bother me much as its rare that it will do that, but if you don't have a super tight budget there are other head units out there from bigger name brands.

This would be a great option for you, obviously you get what you pay for and it ain't the highest quality build. That being said, it does have all the great features of the high end radios except for carplay. Please look at my comment reply to RIZEN Offroad, I mention the couple imperfections I've encountered as well as clarifying that the audio quality and adjustability is superb compared to most stock head units.

@@SallysCustomsCO I actually just finished installing the Boss BE7ACP-P radio this weekend. Wow what an instant improvement it made over my last install. I tried to run a DSP, LOC, 4ch amp setup for my aftermarket speakers and just had nothing but headaches and noise issues and didn't even see an improvement in sound quality. Cutting all of that out and just swapping from a factory radio to this aftermarket changed it all! My only complaint is the camera quality seems really sub par compared to my stock camera that I lost during install.

How long do you wait befor putting oil back in it after using rtv
@SallysCustomsCO

I believe my rtv takes roughly 24hrs to cure and I wait that long. Whatever rtv you use should tell you how long it takes to cure. Once it is cured then you can comfortably fill up the diff with oil

Good description of unit but no details if there was any hard wiring onto the vehicle. Where do you find the location of hard wiring
@SallysCustomsCO
2 жыл бұрын
I used the wiring adapter from crutchfield so I had no need to cut or splice anything directly to the vehicle. However, the adapter harness does need to be hard wired to the head unit and typically you can color match FOR THE MOST PART, however, they have color identifying diagrams for the head unit and adapter in their respective manuals. Use that to wire "right front speaker +" in the adapter to "right front speaker +" in the head unit.
