Spens 10
When I was growing up, my dad had a 1986 Chevy S10, 2.5L 4-speed in light blue and I dreamed of having that truck as my first car when I turned 16. I told him I wanted to put a Small Block Chevy in it and his response was always “no,” followed by either “you’re going to wrap yourself around a telephone pole” or “I don’t want to have to identify a body.” Needless to say, when I turned 15, my dad sold the truck. Over 10 years later, I found a similar S10 in the same color and bought it for $400. This truck was immediately nostalgic for me, and after encountering some transmissions problems, I decided to live out my childhood dream and replace the 2.6L engine and T5 5-speed transmission with a 1965 327 from an El Camino, backed by a 1970 Muncie 4-speed from a Chevelle. My 1984 short bed S10 now has a heartbeat from the muscle car era! Sorry, dad.I turned to KZitem A LOT for advice during this project - and still do - so hopefully my videos help you with your build! Enjoy!
