I like the slip form idea you are using with the papercrete blocks. Is your instructional video still available?

Hi Judith, If you’re tuned in, I’d love to see your place since it’s had a few years use on it. I really admire you for what you did. Also, I hope you got back with Mike. You deserve to be happy.

Are you finished with the house yet? I am going to make a few blocks as an experiment. I have been off grid since 1997 in southern New Mexico.

+Sherry Lambert You are right. I did my second building as you describe but I used the blocks in the form first then poured the slurry all over and around them.

I am almost done with the project. To be honest I have taken a 2 year break from building. Thankfully I worked like crazy 2 summers ago and got 2 small buildings up and closed in. I still have more to do such as beef up the roofs and plaster the exteriors. The good news is I may have a partner buying into the project. An infusion of cash will help tremendously. I am sorry I haven't answered your questions or responded to your comments. I am a bit of a flake with the computer stuff esp KZitem. I have a papercrete Facebook page if anyone would like to look it up.facebook.com/pages/Papercrete/390380804327169 There is not much current info on my houses because I haven't been out there much but I will be working on it again soon and hopefully can remember how to upload videos. Thanks for your comments and encouragement. At verging on 66 years of age it is becoming a challenge to keep up :)

And I have a new Ipad which should help with the video. I can't believe the dinosaur camera I used before. Spent about $1000 for it and now cannot get even $100.

Please share a video of what your house looks like now. I hope to be able to move somewhere close to Santa Fe sometime with some land, and I hope to at least make a studio for myself, along with other structures.

are these load bearing walls or do you need the timbers to support everything. great video. I hadn't heard of papercreate before and now am gung ho to give it a go. what do you think of using straw instead of paper or as a part of the mix. I live in farm country and millions of tons of straw end up being burned off every year. thanks

Better to use woodchips. Leaves break down too quickly. Here's a build we did back in '11. Haven't gotten back on it and still holding up well without plaster coat. youtube video = BviWmwzwJp0 can't add links so search for 'just add water build'

I love to see the creativity that goes into building with Papercrete. It's also nice to see how different mixtures can produce stronger blocks. I also like the innovative way that an Adobe wall be used to absorb heat, and release heat at various times depending on the season.
