What can you say? An ode to defiance at the end of the line, to whatever god you once believed in, to the last speck of sunlight vanished and gone forever. Then you hear this song and something happens. You're still there, still breathing. A thin smile begins to form. Maybe. Just maybe ......

I work with special educations kids one-on-one. I have a kid who has a very hard time communicating and focusing, but will ask for this song every day to help him do his homework. It's his favorite song, which tickles me, as he's so young. This song helps him to use his words and communicate. When he wants "too good to pray yes play?", we play this song! 😂

I met my partner & mother of our daughter grooving to Alabama 3 at Beautiful days fest in 2008.......so we have a very special love for them. Still sad about the premature departure of Jake (AKA Rev D. Wayne Love).....in another time,in another place, I dream of getting stoned & grooving to some sweet techno country music sounds of the mighty A3 again.

I saw these legendary raikers in Belfast a few years back; I yelled for this song, and The Rev D. Wayne answered, with a smirk, "Naw, we ain't gonna play that". Then of course they did. I'll miss ya Rev.

About 15 yrs ago, I was at a gig and D.Wayne went to the front of the stage to lay on hands. I reached out, but he stopped at the person next to me and went back to the mic. I felt snubbed. A few years later I'm at another gig, and he's asking what they should play next. I yelled "Bulletproof", and he looks right at me and says, "uh, no I'm not." Good lad, we're even now.

I used to perform fire at the Brixton Jamm, and met all these guys. Had no idea who they were the other than a band. Over the years they invited me into their studio with the wizard to listen to their album they were putting together. One night I got so drunk with them I got alcohol poisoning, and everyone told me that I had been officially Alabama 3'd. I had some great times with these guys. Jake will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace.
