the inline 6 is probably the best balance built engine ever, no mater who makes it.

I had 2 94s, 3 95s, and a Z model 96.5. Ford screwed the bunk when they tried to modernize this thing. Bone stock, pre OBDII, PERFECT. That California emissions was the last I owned. Got tired of everything being different. Firing order, EGR, it had EGR tubes from a 5.4 Triton. Stupid little things they should never have done.

Someone should teach the hotshot person in the chevy not to spin his tires like that. he's making them soft and useless by doing so. then the ford with is able to pull it to its death.

To all you guys comparing torque numbers... The 300 six makes all of it torque under 2000rpm, it rotating assembly is very heavy. Numbers on paper can't tell the whole story. A heavy mass is hard to stop, that's why when these 100hp engines start spinning they are very hard to stop
@invalidargument479

They used to put those old 300 Inline 6s in dump trucks because they make so much low end torque. I personally wanna see this beast go up against a 460 big block or even a 454 Chevy (or better yet both 😁)

The thing about pulling, the truck with the most power may not win , it’s all about weight. Generally the heavier a vehicle is, it will be harder to pull against.

One thing that makes the 300 (4.9 for u younger fellas), last so long, is they don't have a timing chain. Everything up front is geared.

@@dylanclay2741 the guy in the Ford gave up because he thought he smoked his clutch. To me he lost right there. Also displacement matters more than number of cylinders. You do know a 300 straight 6 has pistons 1.5 times the size of most small block v8s right? Gear ratio determines torque so there's that. I have a 92 f150 with 4.9l in it and a 2021 gmc 1500 with a 5.3. The gmc can definitely pull more weight.

@@Quint1836 And? You do know there is more at play than number of cylinders right? Starting with that chevy probably has 3:73 gear ratio and that ford probably has 4:56. Torque matters. And tires matter too. The guy in the Ford actually gave up because he thought he smoked the clutch so the guy in the chevy won anyhow. I have a 92 f150 with a 5sp and 300 straight 6. I also have a 2012 chevy with a 5.3. I generally tow with the Ford and everything else I do with the chevy. The chevy has more power but less low end torque. Not to mention the Ford goes from 0 to 60 in about an hour.
