David Harvey was a lawyer and went on to become a District Court judge in 1988.

@@djhdcj I’ve seen all of them and a lot of them unfortunately are not around Magnus magnussen era and in my opinion that’s the best era. Strange how so many episodes are so hard to find

@@milesburton3109 It's highly likely that they were erased, a common practice of the BBC from the mid 60's to the mid '70's.

Quite appropriate that the NZ guy has Tolkien as his subject, little did he know his country would become home to the lore.

Bit tough on the Irish contestant, I mean contender, at 6.17. Expected to regurgitate four separate factoids to score one lousy point??! Should have been two; three at most. BTW, Huw E doesn't mention at the beginning that contes-, I mean contenders, are allowed to interrupt. (To my mind they shouldn't have been. But that's Aussies for you, always wanting to up the pace and put their own individual stamp on things.)

Interrupting is part of the overall tactics that can be employed. It is risky because the question may require different information. Interruption was allowed in Australia and in earlier series of MM in NZ but in a recent reboot interruptions were not allowed - a backward step in my view

Don't be a tool, of course it was built with acoustics in mind, just the placing of their microphone is catching echos. If you went there you would have an educated view instead.

You can interrupt the quizmaster while he asks the questions? In the UK version this wasn't done.

It’s a complete no, no today. You got a lot more questions then as they were shorter and read at quick fire speed. Plus a marked tendency to pass which must be linked to the capacity to interrupt questions in mid flight.
