I’l be honest… not loving the way the 10s sound. That said… how do they play? Does it feel more like the action/playability of an electric (or is it just not possible to get the slinky feeling of an electric on an acoustic)? Thanks for the video, man!

Maple guitars have a brighter sound … I think phosphor bronze would be a better choice. 🤠

I'd like to know what you preferred. you certainly seemed to be vibing with the 13's.

the Monel retro 13s were my preference. but after playing them for 2 weeks they're quite dull. the elixir in 13 is my fave still. can play them for months before they sound too dull

I've said countless times that a fatbike is as close as I can get to the experience of riding around on my bmx as a kid. Every direction is a new possibility, just have to ride to it. It also looks like geographically we're about in the same place, and I haven't seen sand or snow in over 3 years, but the FB is always an option when grabbing a bike to ride. Trail, gravel, greenway, or road the fatbike is always an option. But much like the point you're trying to make, it's not always about finding the stoke or brapping every turn, but when you're able to get to that point where you're existing completely inside and outside of yourself are transcendent.

I've discovered much about myself during my own bike rides, especially the one ride I embarked on where I had no idea how hard it would be. I get half way around the loop almost spent and realize I have to dig deep just to get back to my car. there was not much sense going back, it would be the same distance either way, so I pushed forward. I remember one steep ass hill I could not ride up but had to push up and all I could think was to put one foot in front of the other. There was no-one coming to save me, I got myself into this mess, I was going to get myself out. One step at a time. My legs hurt, my lungs burned, only sheer determination was pushing me forward, back to the car. I don't ride as much as I used to, skateboarding has filled the gap of quick and easy exercise, thrills and learning. There is that element of balance though come to think of it and the desire to improve my skills on that board. Thanks for the vid, quite thought provoking.

I have an early 2000s Burro Bike. A small wheel, fat tire bike with one speed - slow. Anyone who likes to "explore" should have a fat tire bike in the stable.
