What would be nice is if somone acquired every accessory that was developed for the f5 and did a video on that.

Nobody ever shows off the autofocus which is weird. I wanted to know how it sounds, the n8008 is very loud. Thanks for showing it, it sounds much quieter

Love the F5! I own many other manufacturers (both film & digital) but the F5 is special. It does 99% of what I need with modern ergonomics. On top of that it’s beautiful IMO. I’ll never plan on selling my F5, M4 or XT2.

Snagged one at a garage sale for $4. Haven't dev'ed my first roll from it yet, but it seems like it's going to be a fun camera to screw with when I don't feel like using my K-1000 or Program Plus but still want to shoot film.

Absolutely excellent presentation! I purchased my F5 in 1996 - the year of its' introduction. It has been in use since that year with no problems whatsoever - was cleaned / checked twice since then. I couldn't help but notice your use of the wonderful word "cool" throughout your video. I have no idea when I started using it but I am currently 72 years old and use it at least daily. Please carry on with that terrific word and let us never let it fade from use. All the best to you and yours, Terry

I had the F5 and F100. The F100 does everything the F5 can with one very important addition; illuminated autofocus point. That's why I still have the F100 and sold the F5.

Hi. I have Minolta AF-Tele. Everything works fine, but I don’t here any autofocus sound. Should it move the lens mechanism or make a sound when focusing? Thank you

You should hear and see the lens moving when taking a photo before the shutter sound. Its a half second or so of whirring.

Let's us not jump off the topic. TheOkayPhotographer is talking about the Nikon F5 I am just saying if the you got the ATG's F5 battery adapter, then the camera is not heavy. Today, you have many beginners & fools parked battery grip because he or she doesn't know how the hold the camera in portrait shooting.

Not the best.Too big, Too heavy.
@angelisone

If you think that was big & heavy, try using & holding the ATG's Canon New F-1r High Speed Motor Drive (mod from New-F-1 HSMD). Plus you got to add more than 20AA batteries. For the Nikon side, ATG assisted with Nikon F3HS. Good luck gettting one of these during those times or even today. They are not cheap.

If anyone thinking on getting the Nikon F6 or F5, think again that I learnt from taking ATG Photo Seminars. Get the ATG Gold EOS-1VHSs or Canon EOS-1VHS. Because you can use Nikon lenses on EF mounts. ATG can do 10fps without using Canon special battery pack Canon do only up 10fps with Canon special battery pack Canon has ATG 2.4GHz TTL flash up to 2,000ws ATG TTL transceivers for Canon ATG 2.4GHz remote shutter trigger Nikon does up 8fps with battery grip All three have removal battery grips ATG & my suggestions on the 35mm format most reliable & fine cameras: 1. Pentax LX & MX 2. Olympus M-1 by Great Grandfather; OM-1, OM-3 by ATG & father 3. Canon F-1, Nikon F1 & F2 4. Canon EOS-1VHS, Nikon F6 & F5 (without battery you got deadweight) 5. Hasselblad 500C/M

Go with the Nikon F4. With or without the motordrive. And the F5 is not that heavy. F6 and all digital cameras have non-removable finder. Same goes after the Canon New F-1.

@@larrymccready5636 Every tried or shoot ATG's Rolleiflex 3003 & ATG's Contax 645? These two have hold their prices very well, even now. While the Nikon F5, Pentax LX and Olympus OM-4 plumped in the used markets. For non-interchangeable finder, ATG's Canon EOS-1VHSs and ATG's Olympus OM-3 help up at high prices in used markets.
