Great story. My brother… you would love Atmos. It’s similar to going from 2.1 to 5.1. Better than 7.1!

For atmos in my apartment I used Polk OWM-3 and used 3m command strips to stick them to my ceiling. They come over without peeling the paint or drywall IF you follow their instructions and remove them properly. That being said, atmos wasn't that big of a deal for me. I can take it or leave it. I know exactly what you mean about wanting to get into a rental house. I have 3 subs in my apartment and I have gotten 2 complaints this month.

Good for you. My own small room home theater consists of 4 LS 50 Metas plus a Kef HTC 3001 SE Center, an eight channel USB DAC (Octo Research DAC 8 Pro), various power amps (Purifi Eigentact, Behringer A500, Aiyima A07), two SVS SB 2000s, a Home theater fanless PC running JRiver with Dirac DLBC, a LG C21OLED 55", two headphones (Audeze LCD X (2021), Sennheiser HD 800 SD), a Smyth Research A16 speaker virtualizing surround sound over headphones processor, a Subpac S2 Tactile Subwoofer, and a Topping A70 Pro headphone amp. Yes, high quality home theater is possible even in a dinky room.

I remember when 1tb was huge. 10 years later and I’m thinking 100tb wouldn’t be insane as far as capacity only financially. I’ve had a nice home theater for 11 years and when considering storage of movies I’ve come to the conclusion that just buying on amazon prime movie is probably more economically feasible than ripping and storing on my own hardware.

I paid about $1100 total for my NAS, sitting at about 70TB in total. I get all my content online for free and can still access it with no issues wherever I please. I can get everything from Amazon Prime directly downloaded onto my NAS as well, same with other streaming softwares. When Amazon deletes things, I will still have them. I will ALWAYS suggest owning your media.

I personally don't find the appeal of Plex, Jellyfinn, Emby. Do people really want to watch old movies streamed to their HDTVs, tablets or smartphones stored on some home server running 24/7 ? I mean once you watched the movie it's done ! Kodi or apps like CinemaHD and Tubi installed on the device is actually a more robust method since it doesn't rely on one central server.

Great video! Love seeing these kind of videos about home media servers. Would love to see a few videos from you about how you use Infuse, software for ripping/remuxing, and anything else related to a home media server! Keep up the good work🤙

Hey I really appreciate this comment! Been pretty slow on getting stuff out to the channel but can definitely start brainstorming some more home media stuff. I learned most of what I cover in this video from Techthusiasm and felt like the TV show section of this video was really the only unique perspective since most people only rip their movies. I've thought about doing some image quality comparisons between Infuse and the disc but I wanted to wait on that until I got a TV upgrade and can judge differences a little better. Let me know if there's anything specific about the process that you're curious about.

I've found a solution for your project by thoroughly reviewing your social media presence and analyzing your KZitem channel. Your KZitem videos have truly impressed me. To propel your channel towards virality, there are a few critical updates that need to be addressed, with SEO being a key priority among them. I am ready to take on the task of enhancing your channel's SEO and implementing strategies to promote your videos effectively, should you choose to move forward with this opportunity.

I said in the video I didn't experience too much difference, however I can 100% confirm they have reduced some energy transfer through the floor. No doubt that I felt that. Obviously this isn't going to be a night and day difference, but plenty of others use them and experience similar results.

Deep bass for home theater can't be understated. You're kind of limited in an apartment , though. I'm running two Full Marty cabs from GSG with Dayton 1,000W RMS 18's on a Crown XLi 3500. I have two Stereo Integrity HST-18's waiting cabs and a Speaker Power 8KW amp. Deep bass into the subsonic range really makes a difference for movies.

No doubt! I know I don't get close to other dedicated systems in that regard. I'm sure my extension probably doesn't go too much lower than 24hz in this room. Hopefully that can be up at some point when I have more room. Probably like dual 16's or somethin.

@SpliffyBendrixHT

Nope! I've asked many of them in passing and they said they hardly hear anything. I'm watching my movies at like -12 unless it's a really quiet mix. Even flirting with reference in this room gets pretty annoying. The loudest I ever pushed it was for this video to make the excursion look cool haha.

Adding a stereo amp with av bypass to the front left and right av receivers speaker preouts, for better more enjoyable 2ch music playback. Then a emotiva basx A3 3ch power amp to the marantz cinema 70s centre and surround speaker av receivers preouts, makes a difference, takes less strain of the av receiver

Thanks for checking out the video! I'm gonna be looking into external amplification once I move. Later on in the video I explain why I'm likely gonna be putting my LCR on a Buckeye 3ch, and then upgrade to 7.1 and put the 4 surrounds on the marantz until I can get a 4ch Buckeye. At least that's the road map for now lol. Always subject to change isn't it?
