I would choose either my CZ Bren2 7.62x51 or my Noveske N6 308 build. I sold my SCAR 17 to get an HCAR in 30-06 I like it but it has some weight to it. I would love to get a Tavor 7 in 308 but it's harder to find one in stock than my CZ Bren 2 was. Great video

I enjoy this academic analysis and practical application. I have done something similar with BDC‘s at 300 yards For both 556 and 308 and it works really well. It gives you the precision out where you are likely to need it and a workable fudge factor up close

Not knocking you for loading your own ammo but it may have helped others more if you shot subs that were more standard grain size like off the shelf.

I run an 85 yard zero for subs. From 0-100 yards it's a 2-inch differential throughout that range. Given a 2 MOA with 300blk subs + a 2-inch differential, a 4-inch group for 0-100 yards is ideal for me.

One thing you should call PA about is what the height over bore they used (not height over rail). If they used a traditional bolt gun with super low rings, the center of the scope will be much closer to the center of the barrel, than if they used like a Springfield hellion using a super high scope mount for example. We can assume the reticle wasn't made for a mount with an integrated cant (like what you find on ELR rifles with 20/30/40moa built in).

ARs being by far the most popular platform, I assume they designed it for that with standard rings. Mine measures 2.7 height over bore.

With a 16" barrel, and 220 grain subsonic .300 BLK ammo, the 16/100 yard zero has been the best... At 60 yards, it's 3 inches high and at 117 yards, it's 3 inches low. Right inside that "CQB" range...

Seems like you‘d be way high over quite s distance inbetween, but I‘d have to check the numbers. If so, it might be better to be a tad low at 100y but have a more even spread. But I don‘t know, I‘m currently zeroed for subs at 50m or 55y because either that or 25m are nearest to me and most convenient to zero for me. Maybe I‘ll try something else sometime, I could do 10y too, if it makes sense
Seeing as my 300BLK is my home defense gun, this type of zero makes the most sense to me.

@jojack228 but the big issue because departments/services zero at that closer 25/36 yd target and then fail to confirm at distance. Being off by a few MOA up close easily goes unnoticed but can cause a complete miss at distance

Just curious, what is your spread between the supers and subs at 100 yards with a 30 yard zero? And is it the case where: - They are both hitting above the bullseye at 100 yards? Or-- - The super is hitting above at 100 but the super his hitting below? Or-- - They are both hitting below the bullseye at 100? I'm curious because I just put together a 300 Blk PDW. It'll be for home defense, so I plan to use a close zero (between ~15-25 yards), but I'm not yet sure what the effect is at further ranges.

Are you running a pistol gas system and no suppressor with the supers and subs?
@andrewnesbitt2523
3 ай бұрын
@@jamesstacey529 Not to answer for him, but I can at least say that it has to be a pistol-length gas system because it's only a 7.5" barrel. The next shortest standard length (at least that I'm aware of) is carbine length, which would align right where this barrel ends (so it wouldn't be possible). I believe you need at least a 10" barrel for carbine-length.

@@jamesstacey529 Funny enough I also have a 7.5" 300 Blk barrel 😂 And to answer your question, it has a 1:5 twist. When I was looking into it, I noticed the head of Q said they put a 1:5 twist on the Honey Badger because it better stabilized subsonics and made them more accurate. Other online forums and videos seemed to echo this, so that's what I decided to go with. At first, I was going to buy the Faxon 1:5 300 Blk barrel, but it was sold out everywhere I looked. Eventually, I was able to find one from a company called Tactical Kinetics on pro2a-tactical. So far so good, but I literally just got it and have brought it to the range only once so far (a few days ago, in fact).
