KZitem thought you’d be a good channel for me to follow and I agree! I’m a DIYer also. I’d love to see how you trim out your doors. I have an upcoming project and it’s a first for me.

Could I do this on a lighter substrate? I have a trailer, and I don't want the weight of tile, but I want the strength of resin. Could I use a cardboard backing? Or foam? Great idea!
@KristiLinauer
3 ай бұрын
I don’t think that I would try cardboard or foam, but I think that you could try quarter inch plywood cut into the shape that you want. You would have to do some testing. It might take some trial and error. But I think you can get it to work.

It's so good to have you on youtube again. I remember following ages ago. Has it been ten years? I don't even want to look to see. I think you were making the backsplash tiles when I moved and life got overwhelming for me and I removed myself from a lot of social media. (I had a different channel name and definitely didn't make content back then). I love the little tweaks you do for your projects. Oh, and from your blog, yes, go through all of the boxes in that area. One never knows what they'll find and be glad the boxes didn't just get dumped in the trash bin. Love the wall of cabinets! Love the gold trim. Love the cabinets behind your desk. Love the cabinet with the 72 colors! LOL Even your spray paint cans under the tv. Are they full or empty? 😁 Oh yes, and I love that you painted the ceiling light gold. What color is the purple door? I have a friend in WA who was trying to find the perfect purple for her front door. If it's 20 shades that you created never mind. LOL

@@KristiLinauer haha, that's great about the spray cans being full. They look new. It's very pretty. And also, thank you so much for the name of the dark purple on your door. I'm surprised it's a buyable color and not your own creation. 🤗

Thank you for sharing a video on this project. I enjoyed seeing the process in your blog, but I'm really a visual person, so seeing the actual spray painting and the wind blowing, etc. was fun for me. (not for you, I'm sure) What a delight to have such a wonderful piece of art that you created. Would I do it? No. I don't have the time. But I love seeing your creativity come to life, or in this case, come to light. I'm glad you didn't give up. And I'm thrilled you've posted a new video. 🤗

So glad you were able to get it completed and have another wonderfully unique piece for your home! If you have extra brain space from which to offer an opinion, I'm trying to think of a suitable material on which to create a 24"x36" or so colorful acrylic painting for my bathroom wall. We're in FL and our last two apartments were moldy. The one we just moved into is new construction and we're doing EVERYTHING to avoid more mold, so thoughts on a waterproof painting surface? I keep thinking about Hardibacker board, but don't know how heavy it is. Maybe there's something better that I just haven't considered. 🌼
@KristiLinauer
3 ай бұрын
Hardibacker is pretty heavy, and it's not very smooth to use as a "canvas". I would personally use 1/4-inch or 1/2-inch MDF. If you're worried about mold, just prime both sides and all edges with an oil-based primer first. Zinsser Cover Stain is my favorite oil-based primer.
