This may sound a little novice, but since I've never done this... Do I need to drain the engine oil to pull this out? I know oil will seep out if I pull the filter only but didn't know if it was worth letting a quart come out and then topping it off? Also you mentioned you loosened the water pump side nuts correct? Appreciate any advice!

Just saw the below Comment about the oil and coolant being drained! Should have looked there first!

Excellent! Finally, a video showing where the damn oil cooler is located -thanks! I watched others, and I couldn't determine what side of the truck they were working on-UGH! I won't be doing the (leaking) elbow gaskets replacement myself, but I wanted to get an idea of how involved it was to work on before I take it to a shop, so I don't get yacked with labor hours... Thanks again, and take care!

Do you know where in Saint John or New Brunswick you can get the structural inspection done to change the registration from salvage to rebuilt?
@peterobrien8653
4 жыл бұрын
You can check with local salvage yards, some have the approval for structural inspection. usually someone who does frame work can do it. Ive heard Reynolds auto body can do them but haven't personally used them, but might be worth a phone call

Violeta Voluta I think you will likely have to arrange your own shipping to Saskatchewan, but you can call and confirm with them on that, I’m not 100% sure

Yes I had leak there as well, best idea is to remove those studs so you dont have to take out the whole cooler. gives you a bit extra room to remove and slide back in with new gaskets. take your time dont want to pinch gasket or not get it seated properly
