Cool as a cucumber there mate. I assume this is in America? I scaffold here in the UK with Tube and fitting (tube n clamp as you guys call it) all day, and have done similar hanging structures before. I know it has been mentioned with regards to the double coupler and its position with regards to the gate of said double, running them upside down means you can loosen them off and place the weight of the standard (dropper) onto the gate. I was also surprise not to see full box tie with the girder clamps around the entire steel beam, and food for thought would have been a check coupler such as a double on top of the supporting coupler to double up the live and dead load of the hanger, vibration from power tools is known to loosen the nuts mate. I can read from your replies that you were instrumental in the dismantle so were not involved with whomever erected this scaffold. Here in the UK using Tube and fitting in a similar structure we would have droppers in each corner and in the centres of each bay, the reasoning is if a corner should fail the centre standard or dropper with provide support without catastrophic scaffold failure such as collapse. And finally mate I fucking hate cuplock, invented here in the UK in the early 1960's by SGB, a total pig to handle, the mount of finger nails I've blackened throwing that shit onto the back of the truck I've lost count.

If anything the hanger as far as the dropper or leg is concerned is stronger, it is in tension not compression, I've seen plenty of tubes bend in compression, have yet to see one stretch in tension.

I'm just tearing it down man, tell that to the stupid fucks in Pennsylvania that built the thing. Although, upside-down clamps are not that bad assuming they are in good condition and tight. The bolt and the pin are rated for the same weight. Its sloppy, yes, but not the worst thing I've ever seen. I think there were bars on the underside with clamps on the leg and beam as well, with bars connecting them both, like a beam wrap. It was half torn down by the time I got there.
