great. I love this. and watching the special DVD including in the collection. I think they should've added the limited tv series and cartoon for all fans. As a kid I saw these on the late night movie since I was too young to see them in theater. I loved them. I just to like trying to figure out who the actor was just by their voice under the ape mask and most times I was right since I was a tv fanatic and knew most of the actors anyway. I had and have a good ear for voices and music and did some work myself. I think all kids should watch the originals and forget the CGI remakes.

Bradford Dillman resembles Charlton Heston, especially around the nose, mouth, chin when he speaks.

Plz advise me on these doubts, * How did the humans who survived with Caesar become mute? Lost the power to talk? * Why dint the Mutants try to save the people in the surface and bring them to the underworld? * Apart from Caesar or his descendants. How did other apes start to speak? * The Mutants could have used their mind control over the attacking apes. * The Mutants could have helped Taylor to find the spacecraft and return to the past to warn and save mankind. Instead they wanted to kill Taylor?

I had a bunch of these when I was a kid Super 8 w/sound. In 400 ft (about 16 min) I had the original Planet Of The Apes, The Three Musketeers, & Logan's Run. Had Star Wars & an episode of 1943 Batman & 1941 Captain Marvel in 200 ft reels.

I'm curious about how Heston felt about the 1968 original. I think he's perfectly cast and gives a terrific performance. You completely believe him as George Taylor. I know he didn't want to appear in any sequels, but I'd like to know if he considered this one of his best films/performances or not?

Every interview I've read (and in his final memoir, "In the Arena") Heston said it was a film of which he was very proud. He didn't want to do another because he considered sequels something a reputable actor didn't do, but when producer Art Jacobs pressed, he agreed to do it with a few conditions: his character would only briefly appear, the world would be destroyed so as to prohibit further exploitation of the original masterpiece, and that his salary be donated to a school of his choice. But also consider that for the first film he was paid $250,000 (against a $5M budget) plus back-end profit participation, which would eventually net him $2M, about $15M in today's money. He made far more on this film, adjusted for inflation, than he made on any other film in his career.
