Maung Maung,! I will never forget morning keikos at Ibaraki Shibu Dojo, 1000s morning strikes, tanren, pushups, exhausted but excited. @igiboy1979 sorry, it seems to me the Iwama Dojo, but isn't. There is a difference about falls of Aikikai and falls of Iwama Ryu. It's all.

You teach the ukemi in Hombu Dojo style (with straight legs resting on the mat), inside the Iwama Dojo... Why? Tell me why, please, I don't understand...

in our dojo we use this ukemi routine plus some other exercises I created on this base. I never had the occasion to say thank you for uploading this wonderful video that helped so much to grow our dojo! Kokoro kara domo arigato gozaimashita!!! Ciao from Italy ^__^

Muy bueno en los ukemis de kote gaeshi e irimi nage, pero en el mae ukemi del segundo 00:30, no es necesario palmear el suelo. Hay que palmear el suelo para frenar el golpe del cuerpo sólo cuando es necesario, no en todos los ukemis.

Weight is irrelevant. You can be 60kg or 160kg, either way you're avoiding, or at least minimising collision with the landing surface.

in Aikido are many types of ukemi, including specific ukemi for koshi nage very similar to judo ones

Yahh...this ukemi is nice to see ...but works in Aikido only, sorry to say, specially for those kote gaeshi, or sshow off irimi....cant use for koshi nage, for if u got judo throws , u'll bust your shoulder.....classics ukemi is safer, or the complete fall, but land on whole side body at once, instead of hands first than roll....but yess..it is nice to see and ''cool' in aikido shows

@lane7330 by ground or floor I think you mean hard solid surface like concrete and the like, if you meant that then yes it does works but it does requires a lot of practice.
