Thank you! Hello 👋 I want to study medicine in Bulgaria but can you guide me about part jobs for students in Bulgaria and how much can a student earn in Bulgaria to cover his expenses.

Hi! From my experience, there aren’t many opportunities to work a part-time job here because they require you to speak the Bulgarian language fluently. If you are able to learn the language, there may be jobs available in small cafes or restaurants - unfortunately I am unaware of how much they pay. Personally, I helped tutor students online to earn a little bit of money and I was able to balance this alongside my studies. I hope that helps :)

Hi, thank you & no problem! In my experience, I can confidently say that as long as you’ve studied the materials in each subject, it’s very difficult to fail an exam. Should I apply to only one medical university in Bulgaria or to multiple universities? Is there any guarantee that if i apply to, say Plovdiv, I'll get admission there? Also, how many days prior should I go to Bulgaria (assuming I don't live in Bulgaria or in the UK) to look for an apartment close to the university?
@hxrrisali
Жыл бұрын
Hi! As far as I know, it’s definitely possible to apply to multiple universities (as long as you do so before the appointed deadlines) - but bear in mind they each have their own entry exams and specific paperwork. I think almost everyone who applies to the university gets offered a place, as long as you’ve passed the entry exam and your paperwork/high school grades are accepted. There’s approximately 200-250 places offered per year. To answer your last question, I’d say it’s best to arrive 2-3 weeks beforehand just to adjust to the city and to find your ideal accommodation.

Why didn’t you talk about the corruption that happens in the university? Once a lecturer starts to not like you they fail u on purpose. Most lectures and ordinary people are very racist. You guys that promote this this country should equally be blamed for exploiting innocent students. Talk about the drop out rates!
@hxrrisali
Жыл бұрын
Hi! I’m not sure I can speak to that, since that has not been my experience. But, I have seen students fail exams and blame their professors rather than acknowledge their own lack of preparedness. I’d also add that although there are cultural differences, on the whole, the locals are friendly and helpful, and aren’t generally discriminatory.
@waleedkhan1144

Yes some students do fail because of the lack of preparedness. I guess we didn’t have the the same professors then. My professors started hating my group to the point they never even allowed us to ask any question and deliberately finished the classes in half the amount they were supposed to. It’s a very unprofessional university

This may be a bit of an odd one. But just wanted to ask how often can you travel back to uk during term time. Is it possible to take few days out each month to spend back home?
@hxrrisali
Жыл бұрын
Hi! It depends primarily on your lecturer/professor, only because some are more lenient than others regarding attendance. Some expect you to attend every seminar, whilst others would be okay with you missing a couple of classes in a semester. For me personally, I used to travel home every 4-5 weeks for a long weekend, missing only a couple of extra days each time - but bear in mind I usually missed classes that weren’t too strict on attendance.

@@hxrrisali thanks that was very helpful. Also on an average how many months do you get as holidays each year. Both for pre clinical and clinical years?

@@arslanjavaid4928 No problem :) We get approximately two months off (2 weeks for christmas, 1 week in february, 1 week for easter, 4 weeks for summer). That’s consistent from years 1-5. You get a little bit more time off in 6th year, but that just depends on how your doctor arranges your timetable for each rotation (i.e. sometimes they split you into smaller groups, and you can arrange with your group members who goes in for one week and who goes in for the next etc.)
