Is there enough slack in the front cables on this build to remove the drop bars ans pack in a Evoke bike bag?? Anyone know ? I'd like to biild up this frame but fly to Asia each year for gravel events with my bike.
@darylpace

I would say you could have 2 or 3 inches of hose and cable in the frame to allow that.

Thank you for this very useful video. I have one question, on my CFR707 I'm facing difficulty to adjust the brake caliper in order to prevent the disc to rub against the pads for front and rear brakes. I would like to perform the surfacing of the brake caliper mount on the frame and the fork. In that respect, I would like to know if you also performed the surfacing of the brake caliper mount on the frame? If you did so, what tool did you use? Thanks in advance.
@darylpace

No I didn’t face the rear. The tool for that is pretty expensive. Most bike shops don’t have one. I’ve ran into that problem with cable actuated brakes on frames but haven’t had the problem with hydraulic.

Great builds - the CFR 707 seems to be a decent frameset. Have you ever checked what the largest chainring is you can get working with the frame, both single and double chainring setup? Thanks in advance!

Hi! I am havin issues with the rear axle being to tight. They provided a 172mm rear axle. I had to drill it down due to it being to tight. What tru axle size did you use?
@darylpace
9 ай бұрын
The rear axles that came with them are 12mm x 173mm 1.5 thread. That’s strange, did you get it sorted. I wonder if it was the axle being out of spec or the frame. They do have a warranty.

Nice frame and bike, Daryl. Great build! Curious though where you got that (black) front derailleur hanger plate/cover from, if you run 1xspeed drivetrain. Did you just saw/cut the standaard front derailleur hanger of is it a special cover? Thanks for the feedback.

Two frames, with forks, bars/stems, headsets, seatposts, and axles for about 1800. Of that like 250 was shipping. 70 extra for paint.

Hey question for you as I just took delivery of a 707 frame. The build is honestly not going very well. I am almost done but the seatpost clamp will not hold the post straight. Minimal effort can twist it. I have tried: tons of fiber grip, 8nm torque, beer can shim, sandpaper shim, sanding the sliding pieces of the clamp itself and greasing them, greasing the bolt itself (I only went to about 5-6nm with this as it increases the clamping force and I don't want to break the thing). Roughing up the post itself with sandpaper. I measured the diameter of the post itself and it's 27.1 so I tried a verified 27.2 carbon FSA one I have on another bike and it still slips. I tried rocking the seat back and forth and re torquing it....I have not ridden it and re torqued it after actually riding yet so that is my last resort. Did you run into a similar issue at all? I am starting to regret the entire build at this point
@sutherlandrb32

So for anyone interested, the solution was cleaning fiber grit off of the interface between the post and the wedge. The wedge has little teeth that are designed to hold the seatpost and I think introducing fiber grit to this area acted as more of a lubricant than a friction increasing paste. I still put fiber grit on the back of the post where it pushes up against the frame seat tube

Sorry just noticed your question. I put carbon paste on the rear section where it’s carbon to carbon and haven’t had any slipping. Hope you’re like you 707!
