Didn't care for others since I found it quite a boring piece. But I realized there's a whole drama with this work! And Yunchan was the one who opened my eyes and ears to the masterpiece. What a grande majestic Gate!

If you want to hear a perfect presentation of the piece, you’re better off training an AI. It will sound leagues better than anything any musician has ever played. But if you want to hear a musician’s music, you’re better off understanding that this is completely acceptable and has been for the last 300-400 years.

That's what interpretations are called. You certainly don't want to listen to cookie cutter works of the composition, bec it'd be quite boring to play by the textbook. Yunchan is quite known to add his personal touches in not just that piece, but mostly all the works he plays. For example, he added his personal interpretations in Rach 3 live concerts with the ossia. Horowitz added extra notes to the works, and I understand why Yunchan loves Horowitz so much.

@@alexmandelli3994 Music is a form of art, not science where 1 + 1 will always equal to 2. He's an artist, just like Horowitz. You just have to get used to these interpretations, bec that's what Yunchan is quite known for. If it's not your cup of tea, then don't listen to him. Nobody is forcing you. Simple as that.

This is absolutely horrible. He can play much better than this. This is pure spectacle and clownery. These are not the paintings of Mussorgsky’s dear friend who died so young of an aneurism, this is sheer bombast at its worst.

He’s amazing AND there are a lot of wrong notes in the octaves. Maybe slow it down to gain more control. Even Horowitz hit plenty of wrong notes. It’s not a bad thing. I’d say it’s noticeable here.

이번 임윤찬의 연주를 뭐라고 표현해야 하나.. 순전히 주관적인 의견이지만 전람회의 그림을 알고 듣는 청중의 입장에서 임윤찬의 해석이 원곡의 느낌을 파괴한다는 느낌이 들 정도로 과도하다는 생각이 들고 무소르그스키 전람회의 그림을 너무 테크닉적으로 연주한다는 느낌이 들어서 전람회의 그림을 연주하는 게 아니라 리스트의 초절기교 에튀드를 연주하는 느낌이 드네ㅠㅠ 새로운 것, 신선한 것 또는 연주자 본인이 생각했을 때 재미있을 만한 것들을 너무 많이 시도한 것이 오히려 이질감을 들게 해서 이번 연주는 좀 거북한 느낌이 든다..ㅠㅠ

저두 이번 실황 갔었는데 비슷한 생각을 했었어요! 추후에 윤찬군 인터뷰 보니까 본인이 "해야 하는 연주"랑 "하고 싶은 연주"를 나누어 둔다고 하더라구요. 무소륵스키는 하고 싶은 연주라고 언급하기도 했고요. 그래서인지 이번에 1부 사계나 무언가는 오히려 너무 얌전한 느낌(해야만 하는 연주) 이었고, 반대로 2부 무소륵스키는 너무 브레이크를 풀어버린거 같긴했어요ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 키예프의 대문 포함해서 전체적으로 연주가 굉장히 묵직해서 푹 퍼져버린거 같은 느낌도 받았고.. 저도 전람회의 그림 너무 좋아하는 곡인데, 감동보다는 감탄? 신기해서 웃음이 나더라고요. 재밌기도 하고.. 정석적인 연주였으면 오히려 눈물이 났을텐데 말이죠ㅎㅎ..

그쵸. 청자의 주관적 해석이 있겠죠. 그런 의미에서 저도 주관적 해석을 하자면 차콥의 사계는 단순하더라도 원작의 시적 느낌을 살려야하는게 어려운거고, 전람회의그림은 죽은 친구의 그림 전시에서 느낀 상상력을 토대로 만든 곡이기때문에 후세의 피아니스트들이 연주하면서 창작의 창작이 얼마든지 가미될수 있는 종류의 음악이란 생각이 들어서 저는 놀랍던데요~

화난 바바야가가 쿵쾅거리며 쫓아 오는데 가까스로 위기를 모면하는 듯한 장면이 눈에 보이는 듯... 이렇게나 찰지고 박진감 넘치는 소리에 심장이 강타 당할 수 밖에요
