I don't care what your sexual orientation is, who you love or how you spend your spare time, no one deserves to die the way Klaus Nomi did. Nor do they deserve to suffer that way. Everyone deserves compassion. And Klaus Nomi has all my compassion and respect.

I think this was a television appearance. If so, I wonder what channel it was shown on. I know it was his last. Vaya con Dios, Klaus Nomi.

I sure wish I coulda had the pleasure of listening to this legendary artist as a kid instead of discovering him last fall. I think I would've really enjoyed it then like I do now. God bless you, Klaus Nomi.

What's sad but true is that bad things do happen to good people. Klaus was a great talent and a great person, and AIDS is such a horrible illness. Terrible it happened to Klaus. God rest your soul.

He was thinner in this one, and even with the heavy makeup, he looked so sick. Such a heartache! He sure sounded as great as ever though.

I've listened to several versions of Cold Song by some of the greatest classical talents and this is the only interpretation that feels right. Its difficult to interpret - I'm not convinced that Martin Scorsese found the right use for it in Wolf of Wall Street.

DynamicoDesigns Due to the state of his last days, no one was allowed to visit him, not even his best friend Joey Arias, who was his only true friend at the end and has spent all this years to keep the memory of Klaus alive!

Thank you Octavio. Since my last posting I listened to the version by Andreas Scholl but too fast to my liking (and I am a fan of his) and Petteri Salomaa. Also a wonderful performance. I guess that it all comes down to personal taste in the end.

This is the song that made me discover Klaus Nomi so many years ago. You departed this Earth at a too young age Klaus. You would have been a perfect Farinelli!.... The LP that I still own is packed 12000 kms away from where I am now. Thank you for posting that song so that I can listen to it once more and enjoy a truly wonderful voice.

Utterly devastating, unbearably heartbreaking, soul chilling brilliance. One of the greatest gay icons of all time, and one of the most original and innovative performers of the late 20th century. Simple man? Simple legend, in my opinion. One of my heroes, and never ever to to be forgotten. What a genius.

What power art thou, Who from below, Hast made me rise, Unwillingly and slow, From beds of everlasting snow ! See'st thou not how stiff, And wondrous old, Far unfit to bear the bitter cold. I can scarcely move, Or draw my breath, I can scarcely move, Or draw my breath. Let me, let me, Let me, let me, Freeze again... Let me, let me, Freeze again to death !

What? Where do you get off telling someone what "Christian" means? In your self-righteousness you demonstrate the very prejudice you seek to decry. Otakumike2006 has written a sweet comment demonstrating a willingness to question his preconceptions, access his heart, and share with us what he has found. You are a much smaller person than he.
