"Saving up" isn't the same as "making concessions". If you only spend what you have "left", how are you going to beat the economy?

And for anyone interested in the Nintendo World Championships, there is a little movie(didn't get much fame, and had a lot of negative critics) called "The Wizard". At least in the U.S that was the name of the movie. Fred Savage was in it if I remember right, and it's loosely(subjective) based on the NWC. I used to love watching it as a kid. It's where Super Mario 3 was first seen by the public if I remember right. It wasn't released yet.

Also, I think this is common knowledge, but most of the people who made it towards the end of the championship, used quite a little work-around for the mario section of the game. They would collect the coins, then kill off mario, and collect them again. Most were using that little tactic, and I witnessed it first hand. Jesus, that seems like lightyears ago. I was only about 10 at the time..but I made my grandmother take me. Quite the show, and back then it was considered MASSIVE.

I'm still searching for this cart. I spectated the championships in new york city in 90, and always said I would get the game just to have it. At this point, I'm sure I'll never see the gold cart, nor will I ever justify spending upwards of 20,000 dollars from a collector to obtain it. The gray cart is more reasonable at a few grand, but even that is steep. I'm not hurting financially but still...urgh. Childhood. Too bad this wasn't an original copy, as in, not traded. Would of fetched A LOT.

At soniclikestoplay the grey cart can be worth up to 20,000 hope this helps (20,000 is in US dollars) I'd keep the game for a little bit wait until It's has more value if you're going to sell it but if you see a gold one for 50 bucks buy it because those can be worth 30,000 ( again in US dollars) again hope this helps

I found this but the Gold edition(the rarest of them all) in a box of nintendo games I bought from a lady at a garage sale when her son was away at college. I paid 40 bucks for about 40 games and paid with a check.Well he came home, found out she sold his game and was FURIOUS. Tracked me down and demanded the game back. I refused and he ended up taking me to court and suing me for the game. Paying with a check that day won me the case and I got to keep the game.
