Omg i remember this skit. It was so good. I still share it with friends. This brings back so many good memories every time. Back when the con had more fun game like pannels. And smaller so i felt like i got to know more people better.

how do you figure out how long a piece of ribbon you need for your project (ie my neck)
@sumikins
2 жыл бұрын
I honestly am not sure. I did not measure mine. :/ I think I bought something like 5 yards and had extra? My neck is 15 inches, and I used a 2 inch satin ribbon for the base ribbon.

@@sumikins thats really helpful, i can base my calculations off yours , but i suppose i'll aim big and cut it down for extra. Thank you for such a clear tutorial!!

Your instructions are the clearest and easiest to follow that I've ever found on KZitem! Thank You! My first ruff attempts using KZitem clips (not yours) didn't go nearly so well. Like several other folks commenting, I used small clips to keep the ruffles together and avoided twisting the whole ruff into a mess.

oh my god, you have a moral duty to redo this video and say at the beginning NOT TO PULL THE THREAD TOO TIGHT! I am making two of these for a school jubilee costume tomorrow, it's 11:30 at night, and my hands and eyes are going to fall off. I have got to the second side and learnt that the first side needs undone and res-sewn. Agh!

To prevent the ruff from coming undone during sewing, simply just put some pins in it!

Nice! I have two suggestions: a careful slather of elmer's glue on the end edge might be a way to prevent fraying without having to mess with fire. And if you have two needles to thread, you could do three or four stitches on one side, then do a few on the opposite side and continue alternating as you go.

How can I make one of this but quite bigger? I'm thinking I'm going to need fabric right? o:
@sumikins
6 жыл бұрын
Yes, for anything that you would want to extend farther out than the width of a piece of ribbon, you would need to make the strips with fabric. Cut all your stripes (or, if you have a fabric that will allow it, you can snip and tear across the grain and get perfectly straight pieces) -- sew them together, and finish/hem the edges, then follow the steps in this tutorial :)
