The car in the picture is a 1968 because of the front parking lights. Then you show a 1967.

My very first car was a 1967 Firebird. Yellow with black racing stripes down the sides. I got it in the Military. Miss it for sure.

Amazing. I bet if you asked the dad he wouldn’t have traded his time or anything with his family for that car. But giving it back to him meant the world

What a wonderful story and amazing gift of love you gave! My first car (1973) was a 1968 Pontiac Firebird 350 in black with red interior. My parents made me sell it the fall of '74 after my 2nd accident in it. I tracked it down once in the mid 80s with intent to buy it back, but the owner wouldn't part with it. I've seen a few since then, but none with that color combination. The 1968 came with a 350 base and the 400 with hood scoops. Mine had a fold down rear seat to a platform that worked well for transporting my guitars and amps to band practice. I think about that car often. All I have left are a few photos. And the dime-sized cigarette burn I put in the drivers seat. It was a head turner and sounded great with glass packs and side pipes.

The USA has two types of people. The ones that steal anything valuable and dear to your heart. And then there are the ones who make it up to you. I hope the second group prevail.

The only thing that would make this better, is if the son told Julio " Dad, I called your boss and you have the next 10 days off work. Here's $2000 in cash. Hit the road and don't come home for a week. Have fun!"

Julio’s actually retired… but he did say: “don’t tell your mom yet” (his real boss) and he drove the extra long way home.

many won’t get this. why would so much effort be put into a car? why is a car so emotionally impactful? those folks often drive average, super boring cars & they never will get it. my Dad’s a Pontiac Man & I grew up knowing 389s & 400s. he now has 3 ‘64 GTOs & a ‘04 GTO…the ‘04 is the only one without 3 Carbs. so, I get it!….and this was amazing. thanks for sharing this. Nice Work, Dude. Nice Work

You will never see anything like this about a Prius. Because that is just a tool to get from point A to point B. These old things are more than just cars and the ones lucky enough to experience it im sure got as emotional as I did.

Cool. My dad inherited a ‘68 Firebird flame orange with white leather seats in mint condition, with only 27000 km on it! My brothers and I wanted to buy it, but he sold it for $6500 🇨🇦ian to some goof, jerk didn’t deserve it. Thanks dad🙄😤😡
