Hello Daniel. Need help. When I assign let’s say all the drums to group 2 and I assign my keys to group 3 and my 4 vocals to group 5. Now when I go to group 5 vocals and I hit the edit button and I need more of vocal two but I want to balance it as I’m hearing the other vocals it solos the mic and I’m not able to balance it. Or I would like to hear the whole band to be able to adjust the vocal. Can you let me know is there away to do that. I had the p16 and I was able to still the whole band as I adjusted a vocal to balance it on my mix.
when you mentioned singers wireless packs are mono? are refering to your setup or in general? As there are stereo wireless system

We use PSM 300's and each transmitter feeds 2 packs. The PSM 300 can feed one stereo mix or two mono depending on how you setup the receiver packs.

Very good walk through and nice job explaining things. I would have enjoyed a little more on reverb settings like type of reverb etc, but over all great presentation.

Fantastic video! Thank you. How did you name the individual channels within groups?
@danielwebb7564
5 ай бұрын
The groups are named via an SD card (I'm not sure why it is limited to this method but it is which makes it hard to reconfigure the units) and when you are assigning the channels from the console to the groups, the names are pulled from the console. I hope that makes sense!

Really awesome job explaining the DP48 and the complex exchange between FoH and IEM . Thanks for taking the time to present in such a clear fashion.

Very well done. Quick question...I get that 1-12 are groups and you can assign whatever is needed (i.e all drums on 1, all guitars on 2, all vox on 3, etc), and that each channel in the group can be adjusted (pan/level), and when doing so, that channel will be soloed. Is it possible to adjust an individual channel within a group in real time without soloing? For instance, you notice that your snare is to high in your mix and it needs to come down. Can the snare be turned down without losing the rest of the mix?

Yes! The only time is solo's is when you are assigning channels to your groups. If you need to edit the drum group to turn the snare down, just select the group (in my case #10) and press edit. You can then scroll through each channel assigned to the group to adjust level and panning of each within the group. Thanks!

@daniel this was the best video i've seen for this. I had a question, i'm using the Wing and when I go to assign I see the channels but the names are not coming over though they have names on the board. Any ideas?

The names for the groups or the names for each of the 48 channels when assigning on the DP48s?

You connect the DP48 to the AES50 port on the back of your audio console.

Please is it possible to restore this device to default settings ? The one I met in my church has this much of an ambience whenever I try use the headphones attached to it as a monitor so most times I end up dropping the headphones and depending on the speaker thats far away for listening 🎧

I believe there is a factory reset. If it's just an issue with Ambiance, check the on-board mic volume by selecting the mic button and adjusting for the appropriate mix (A orB) and also check the reverb volume for each group by selecting the group and then pressing reverb.

Thanks for the great overview which really helped me out in getting a good mix going on my new DP48. Does anyone know if it's possible to EQ the built in reverb in order to get rid of the low end?
@danielw7154
Жыл бұрын
I do not believe it is possible to change any parameters of the reverb with exception of type. You can eq your group that your sending to reduce the lows before it goes to the reverb though.

@@danielw7154 Thanks for getting back to me. And yes, this is basically what I've been doing. I've got 3 vocals in separate groups, but all of them have their low end heavily reduced, including my own. These are the only groups I'm send to the reverb.

Hey Daniel. I'm in agreement with Craig Birchfield. This is by far the best presentation of the DP48 and it's functionality that I have ever seen. But actually you can use a wireless body pack and get a stereo mix. We've used an insert cable that splits a stereo output from a headphone jack into left and right from P16Ms and also for inputs to left and right powered speakers. Coming out of the DP48 this insert cable can become a stereo input for Shure PSM 300 and PSM 900 Series IEM Systems and the Sennheiser IEM Systems as well. As all of these transmitters have either 1/4 inch or 1/4 inch-XLR Combo jacks for inputs.
@danielwebb7564

Yes you can. I made this for specifically my worship team. We use PSM300's and have two packs per transmitter, so they are only getting mono mixes. We have a guitarist that uses his Sennheiser wireless with his and uses it in stereo.

@Walter Millsap III you can add reverb to any group by selecting the group, pressing the reverb button, then adjusting the knob for mix a or b.

Important question as I'm struggling with it. Can you assign one channel to 2 different groups? I need it desperately....
@michaelivey1758
Жыл бұрын
Actually no! Example: If you assign a channel to Grp#1 and then assign the same channel to Grp#3 when you go back to Grp#1 you will find it is no longer assigned in that Grp#. If you assign the same channel to another Grp# you will find that the same channel is no longer in Grp#3.

Daniel, this is by far the best run through of the DP48 that I've found - including official tutorials. You obviously spent a lot of time putting it together for your team and I appreciate it. We've been struggling a bit at our church to get up to speed on the unit so I'll recommend it to all our team. God Bless. 👍
