Just saw this an hour ago at SF moma, and can’t really get out of it. I had ayahuasca in peru, and somehow i experienced very similar spiritual, communal experience. Couldn’t stop bursting my tear or joy, almost i felt like i had a retreat. I was looking for buying vinyl or listening whole song, but this is the only place that I can keep listening this beautiful song. So thank you so much. And reading all the comments gives me feeling of universal love, compassion. I hope more people can sew this show in person and share the love.

I’ve had the privilege to experience this twice at the ICA in Boston, I think in 2015 and 2022. I can only hope it comes back again. It is easily the most awe-inspiring piece of art I’ve ever beheld in person. No oil on canvas in any museum can hold a candle to experiencing this grand melancholy beauty

I begrudgingly went to the ICA in Boston one night. I had really just given up on contemporary art at that point. I was completely astounded, ultimately revitalized.

I remember seeing this in Dallas at an art museum when I was in high school, I just wanted to sit there and sob. This was something I would always think about.

I was in sfmoma last night, watched it for an entire hour and couldn’t stop the tears from bursting out. Here I am, once again, watching it and admiring the downpour inside.

Seen this in Bilbao when I was 18. I must say almost 10 years later I still feel it is the most important art piece I've ever experienced. Ragnar Kjartansson's work is something else.

Just got home from seeing this, with the tune repeating in my head the entire ride home. Was happy to find this online! One of the best installations I've seen at SFMOMA. Moving and hypnotic, engrossing. Just what I needed today.

I just saw it at SFMOMA. I sat in the middle of the room and cried all the time. I felt the music so inside of me, that it was so close to a religious experience. Thank you for making me feel so much with art ❤

I just saw this as SFMOMA today, and went in expecting nothing and came away with so many emotions... My favourite moment is at 47:00, when the one pianist sees his friend entering the room, and his face lights up in a smile that just says "I'm so glad to see you, friend" and the rest of the room one-by-one does the same... It captures the essence of what the whole art installation is trying to convey.

I saw this at Louisiana in Denmark in 2023. I caught the ending, but sat again thru the entire piece. It is truly uplifting and makes one grateful for being alive to experience it. Thanks for putting it up here as a reminder. It's definitely a piece that should be experienced in person.

I went for the second time yesterday to see it at SF MoMA. It's a brilliant piece of work that makes me cry and smile. I'm so grateful for being able to revisit it here online. Thank you for recording and filming this - the audio is great! Why didn't you show more of the other musicians/screens/outdoors though, and the end as they disappear? I think they add to it visually, and poetically. it's such an assemble piece.

"Why didn't you show more of the other musicians/screens/outdoors...?" Great question. Short answer: I didn't have the footage. The challenge of putting together a collage of this nine-screen performance is to be able to capture the right footage at the right time, which is a nine-body problem, or a 9x64 minute-recording problem, neither of which I was able to overcome. If any of my readers have high resolution clips of the performances that you wish to share with me, I'll be happy to consider incorporating them into an upgraded version. However, I realize that any collage is still one person's curation of this multi-faceted performance. Nothing will match your unique experience.

Alone, in a city that’s not mine, a little confused and little sad. I sat in this dark room surrounded and lit by amazing and grand picture. I experienced all of these separate instruments swell into the most beautiful compositions over the course of an hour. After, I wandered golden gate park aimlessly for hours and thought about years worth of… well thoughts lol. it really is an experience I am never gonna forget. I love art for how normal it makes me feel :)

My daughter and I stumbled on this accidentally while on vacation. At first we couldn't figure out what was going on because we had walked in during the middle, but we were mesmerized and couldn't walk away. The tempo, lyrics, scenes, everything just blew us away. Would love to see them again if they every come to Minneapolis!

I saw this at the Museums of Modern art in Louisana, Copenhagen. It was a breathtaking experience. I was amazed at the performance and all the different screens shared all over the room. An experience to be lived..you don’t get the same feeling on KZitem as the first time you see it on the museum

I saw this at Louisiane art museum last night. I smiled and smiled. I've seen loads and loads of sad or sorrowful or depressing art. And there is loads of pretty and decorative art too, but I can't remember before seeing art that makes me feel happy and loving like this. Thanks😊

Just saw this at the SFMOMA. Watching it on KZitem doesn’t do it justice. At one point (when they really built up the lines about the stars exploding all around) it was such an overwhelming experience. Being surrounding by the sound and images made me want to get back into playing music regularly (which I haven’t done since covid, not in a large ensemble anyhow). If you get a chance to see the installation at a museum I’d definitely recommend it. It was only five extra dollars and it was def worth it.
