I think you needed to be closer to the ceiling. If you run that all day extending it as high as you did, your back is going to kill you tomorrow. Those stilts the drywall guys use might be nice.

As of October 9th, this Bauer drywall sander is on sale for $99. Normal price is $160 and it doesn't go on sale super often, so I'm definitely thinking about picking it up this weekend.

I just came across your video - I'm a DIY homeowner, prepping to paint my interior for the first time. I've been looking at the Bauer, but do you use / would you recommend using an electric drywall sander to sand between coats of paint?

Do you know where to buy the carbon brushes for the Bauer? Because I ask at the service center of Harbor freight tools, and they not sell the part replacements. I want to buy this sander, but I don't want to buy something I can't fix later. Actually I use a Wen Sander.

2 suggestions for you, 1) I’ve noticed these HF tools sometimes come with and extra set. A lot of people don’t even know what they are, lol. 2) Ace Hardware, specifically their Hillman Hardware “drawer” section. That area where all the little specialty bits are, there is a drawer with brushes. They are a bit dated as to the listed tools they fit, but as a former employee, I was able to help customers find a close match to get them out of a bind. The carbon portion can be “sanded” to fit if you can find the proper copper end. Just have to do a little engineering !
@DrakknarJL
Жыл бұрын
@@leefottler4744 I know the first of your suggestions, the problem is that we sand all our jobs and per week there are 2 to 3 houses. So the extra couple of carbon brushes would last maybe two months. But your 2nd suggestion is good to know, I didn't know I could sand the carbon brush to fit it. Thanks for your tips.

@@DrakknarJL another thought if you’re going through that many. Is there any filter media over the motor “air holes “ ? If not try taping some on the outside or when you’re in there doing brushes , tuck some in. The thin white stuff sold for air conditioners should work. Same on the outside. In a pinch , on the outside, coffee filters should work ! 😂 Good Luck !

Question: Would you prefer an old, skilled doctor who swears by the value of outdated techniques, or the same skilled doctor who uses the latest technology, improving his accuracy? Personally, I would choose the latter. It's the same with carpenters. We can profess to accomplish the task with common tools and skill alone, but often there is a tool that improves accuracy. Does that make the carpenter less experienced? I say, "No sir." He's willing to invest in his trade. It works that way for many tools. For example: Do you own a pneumatic nail gun? Why? Don't you own a hammer? Of course you do. Then why use the pneumatic nail gun? It's a useful tool, making your work better. What I've learned from many of these comments that have been posted: Don't be stuck thinking one way is best.

@@izzyc.6559 I don’t know, I’ve got a couple crew members that were completely green a year ago, today I would be reasonably confident they could make that cut by hand. It’s an essential skill that every deck builder should have. Just like accurately ripping a board freehand. Don’t get me wrong the tool is really cool, but the skill would better serve a carpenter. 😉
