Roleystone Volunteer Fire & Rescue Service
Roleystone Volunteer Fire & Rescue Service is a vital part of the local community. Founded in 1957, the Brigade was initially formed as a Bush Fire Brigade (BFB). In 1999, the addition of the Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service (VFRS) further enhanced the Brigade’s capacity to help protect the wider Roleystone-Karragullen communities. In October 2021, the City of Armadale disbanded the BFB. The Brigade's focus within the community is along the state guidelines of prevention, preparation, response and recovery (PPRR) and is particularly focused upon the role of bush fire fighting in the local grassland and Jarrah-Marri environment. With the development of VFRS, the Brigade has extended its capability to attend structural, road crash and HAZMAT incidents. Inline with the Brigade’s drive to protect and serve the community, through the Community Engagement Team, the Brigade has a heavy focus with helping local residents to become more prepared and resilient against bush fires.
