This was the "Diamond Horseshoe Saloon Revue and Medicine Show" which debuted in April 1995 and ran until 2003. The original Diamond Horseshoe Revue (the counterpart to the original Disneyland Golden Horseshoe Revue) had run from 1971 to 1986 and was replaced by the "Diamond Horseshow Jamboree" which ran from 1986-1995. Unlike the previous two shows, this one was not duplicated at Disneyland. After it closed in 2003, there was only a brief Goofy oriented show and then the great theater became nothing more than a "meet and greet" (the biggest waste of space concept ever to infest a Disney park) and restaurant. Disney World has basically been without any kind of legitimate show for more than two decades now.

Remember The Magic........ I mean, where do I begin with this absolute gem of a parade with what it presented to reflect and showcase the theme of its namesake? I'm still entralled with looking back and seeing the parade to get me in a happy mood and to think back on a much simpler time as well as wonder how things would've gone if we've taken a different path in life and if we wanted or dreamed about something bettter. I envy you and everyone else who got to see and/or were lucky enough to take part in the show stops (even though it's down to guess work to find out which show stop the guests back then would each want to watch along the parade's route). Sure wish that this golden oldie was brought back for a future anniversary or to be the mainstay parade until something new is created on that front, I think WDW missed out on a golden opportunity to hammer home how far the entire resort has gotten since 1971 when it was first opened and introduce today's guests to a special part of the resort and the Magic Kingdom's storied history.

Did anyone else ever see the dead Woody Woodpecker on this ride? I rode this ride once in the 80s and to this day I swear I remember clear as day there was a submerged Woody Woodpecker with Xs on his eyes, hands tied behind his back and block of cement on his feet. I knew it was a joke on their cartoon competitors. I've search and searched and never found anything on this. I figured they pulled it quick being as morbid as it was but was definitely a trip seeing. I know I'm not cracking up. Somebody else had to have seen this. Please respond if so. I can finally feel sane again.

I never got to ride the Disney World version until now! We always went to Disneyland CA and rode their version, called the Submarine Voyage. It didn't feature Captain Nemo but it did have nearly all the same references in the ride. A really cool detail between the two rides though. Here, Captain Nemo mocks the idea of a Sea Serpent and Mermaids (despite us seeing them) and then does battle with the Giant Squid trying to crush the Nautilus. In Disneyland's version however, we see a giant squid and easily repel it while our captain mocks the old legends of giant squid crushing ships and then suddenly he sees the mermaids and the sea serpent and he can't believe his eyes! It's just a nice little detail how each version was just slightly different and paid homage to each other!
