thanks for sharing this! I just bought a DS23 and will have to learn its quirks to maintain her, although I dont think I'll ever go as far as removing the whole engine, fortunately, she is in good shape

Wow! I'm impressed by the electric ratchet! Time saving tool, although too big in tight places. Nevertheless, quite useful on several, accessible places!

I don't mean to sound impolite, but honestly this guy's knowledge is really questionable. "Metric adjustable spanners" - just utter rubbish; "the Citroen hydraulic sphere has many times more shock-absorbing than a conventional 'steel spring shock' absorber" - a what !? I haven't listed all the dodgy comments because quite frankly there are just too many. I wouldn't trust this man with my lawn mower, never mind my D series (no such thing btw - it's called a DS because that's how the letters DS and it stands for "Déesse which in French is Goddess).

Thanks for the video! I own a '64 DS-19, the engine is completely ruined and blocked by rust... But i also own a '66 ID-19 which seems to have an engine that could be repaired and put to the DS. Both cars haven't been running since early 80's i think and i guess that removing its engines, fixing one of them, putting it again to the DS, reconvert it to LHM (now it seems to be LHS) is gonna be an extremely hard and expensive work, what do you think? My dream is doing it, but i don't know if i realli can, which makes me feel extremely sad when i think about it....

@@echan275 Thanks for your interest E Chan! Sadly I have to say that I was cheated many times trying to buy a good engine for the car, ending by loosing quite some money and I got tired of trying... I gave away the '66 and kept the '64 which I still have, untouched since then. And I decided to change project. I Imported a '58 Plymouth from USA and now, finishing new interiors and waiting for white wall tyres and it'll be done. I've thought to sell the '64 DS but I feel bad about it, like I could still fix it... But I don't know... We'll see...

There is NO such thing as a 'metric adjustable wrench',,,,!!! An adjustable wrench is exactly what it is - an adjustable wrench - it makes no differentiation between bolt-heads,,,,!!!

i had to do a presentation for my English class about this and i basically explained it in the same way and now i find your video ive never known how the shocks work given my only sphere is not rebuild-able and it doesn't have a replaceable shock-absorber could you please make pictures of a shock thats taken out of the sphere so i can get a better understanding of how they work if you've already done this in a video can you redirect me there. BTW. i am dutch so thats why i chose to do it in English for my class, they understood what i was talking about :)
