Hello Sapan, Can you share the CAD Model file or video of rotor geometry? I would like to go through the entire process of this rotor dynamics analysis.

Thanks for the video, super helpful, but why you did not use prestress option to link the modal and harmonic response?

@@aliosmanbayir6009 it is defined the rotational direction. As i remember that ansys uses the stationary frame not rotating frame if you mean this. You need to define the rotation to evaluate synchronous stimulus effects, stiffining and softening effects. I am not sure about effect of rotation direction on modal analysis but it is really important at unbalance response analysis. İf you don't define the rotational and unbalance ( rotating force) direction in the same direction you will see the backward whirling modes at unbalance response analysis. If you are interested about synchronous stimulus you have to define them in the same direction. To avoid and check this, you need to compare the critical speeds of bode diagram (unbalance response analysis) and Campbell diagram (modal analysis). Same direction shows forward critical speeds, opposite direction shows backward critical speeds at unbalance response analysis. I hope it is clear.🙂

@@teb7002 thank you sir I appreciate that... Can a person perform an unbalance response analysis via modal analysis? or should I use a different interface in ansys ?

@@aliosmanbayir6009 you are welcome. You need to use harmonic analysis module in ansys. There are some special tools on rotordynamics such as dyrobes, xl rotor etc. May be they can use different named module in terms of unbalance response analysis. You can find introductory tutorial on my youtube channel.

Hi, thx for the video. Can I draw real bearings and define them as bearings in my simulation?

I don't think so. You need to use bearing parameters. Why do you want to use real bearing geometry?

Remote point and hit point need to be same location. May be you can solve it by defining remote point again at same location of hit point. I didn't have this error before.

I have a question, when studying rotor dynamic, we plot campbell diagram. I always see the curves going linear and symmetric, but what happen when the curves aren't linear and symmetric? I'm dealing with a project and I can't explain why one of the curves isn't linear.

Hello Sir, Can you kindly share the CAD Model of the rotor, It would be a great help in my study of Rotodynamics.
merhaba bizim bir projemız varda onda dinamik ve statik analiz ayrıca fatique test yapmamız gerekiyor yardımcı olur musunuz. Çok basit aslında ama nasıl yapcagımızı bilmedigimizden yapamadık
For the remote displacement, why did you let the y-axis free, not z-axis?
@teb7002
3 жыл бұрын
Y axis is free to allow the bending of rotor. Z axis is rotating axis. We are not interested in torsional. So we can fixed rotation to solve problem easily. Linear z is fixed because there is a constraint from bearings.

Mohammad Alzghoul I think it is possible with parametric design if you are trying to check result for different span of bearings. But there could be a problem about defining the remote points because of ansys bugs. Be careful about remote point when you doing parametric analysis.
