Long Covid , Myalgic Encephalomyelitis , Idiopathic Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia are all probably one disease and viral infection has been postulated as a cause in all of these entities. They are all more prevalent in women ( as are many autoimmune diseases ) with very similar and varied symptoms, I’m not sure how stimulating the tragus which is supplied by the Trigeminal nerve would stimulate the Vagus nerve. There is a branch of the Vagus that supplies the skin of the bony ear canal which if stimulated can cause uncontrollable coughing in a small percentage of people. If this device actually stimulates the Vagus nerve then a certain proportion of the people using it should experience the cough reflex. If this is not the case then you would have to conclude that it is not stimulating the Vagus nerve. It wouldn’t be that difficult to set up a placebo arm by simply placing the stimulator elsewhere on the body for instance on the tip of the pinna or the ear lobule

Hi Nurosym team! I would appreciate some advice ! Could this device help for chronic neuroplastic pain. In other words chronic sensation in my right arm which have no structural or physical cause and are caused my an overactive nervous system and recurring fear or anxiety about symptoms which has put the brain on a loop of pain-fear-expectation. I would really appreciate the reply. And is the 30 day trial from day or purchase or day of arrival ?

@michalishillides3956 Thank you for reaching out to us with your inquiry regarding chronic neuroplastic pain. While we don't have a direct study with chronic neuroplastic pain, Nurosym is designed to stimulate the vagus nerve and modulate the autonomic nervous system. This can potentially help with conditions involving an overactive nervous system and anxiety-related symptoms. Some users have reported experiencing relief from similar symptoms after using the device. Regarding your question about the trial period, the 30-day trial starts from the day the device is delivered to you. Other than looking nicer and being preprogrammed, how is this different to a TENS machine? I realise some TENS machines are quite strong but ones like the NeuroTrac Multi TENS start at 0.5ma and costs less than £70. I just got a Nurosym but I can't help but feel a little ripped off. What does it have over the NeuroTrac?
@nurosym

@marzipom5630 TENS units are made for stimulating generic peripheral nerves and tissues, not the fragile structures of the vagus nerve. Trying to use a TENS unit on the vagus nerve can be compared to trying to change a lightbulb with a hammer. Exposing the nervous system to untested electrical current can risk permanent damage to the nerves and make symptoms worse. Mayo Clinic researchers warned in a leading scientific journal, Scientific American, that tampering with the vagus nerve with unlicensed medical devices can potentially result in cardiac arrest or sudden death. Vagus nerve is one of the most important nerves in the body, controlling most organ functions, including breathing, heartbeat, and digestion. Damage to the Vagus nerve can result in disability or death. Nurosym is a certified medical device indicated specifically for targeting the fragile vagus nerve. It has been tested for safety & efficacy for this specific purpose. For patients with nervous system problems, such as dysautonomia, Long Covid, fibromyalgia, ME/CFS, and POTS, often TENS stimulation is too strong, leading to side effects. Nurosym provides gentle stimulation that is tolerable by patients with severe health conditions. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Please note that the information provided here is for general informational purposes only and is not intended as medical advice. Sorry mate, but that's bollocks. Your device is a glorified TENS machine. I realise you need to say otherwise to make sales but this is just ridiculous. AVA a Vagus Adventure is a good FB group to look into. Most members there use TENS machines for vagus nerve stimulation. Not all of them are suitable of course but there are others like the one I mentioned that are perfectly fine as they are even more gentle than the Nurosym.

@ryanmacleod2227 Here are a couple of suggestions to help keep the earpiece in place: • You can adjust the malleable part of the earpiece before using the Nurosym device. This adjustment can help customize the fit to better suit your ear and potentially improve the stability of the earpiece. • If the earpiece continues to slip out despite adjustments, you may consider using headphones or earmuffs to help keep it in place during treatment. If you still need further assistance, please contact our customer support team via email at [email protected] and they'll be glad to assist you. Regards, Nurosym Team

Speaking of teeth - where is the problem with metallic dental implants? I asked my dentist as advised - he said that he has no idea how it should affect my implant in a negative way. It should be safe, he said. I asked if there could be a problem the other way around. He said that only you as the manufacturer can tell if the implant affects the neurostimulation or the ANS in a negative way.

@christender3614 Thanks for your question. Dental implants are not considered high-risk. Nurosym is considered low risk when used as intended and has a very high safety profile. Clinical studies evaluating implanted metal medical devices have shown no interactions or device-related adverse events. Patients with active implanted devices (including electronic and/or medical devices), e.g., cochlear implants, cerebral shunts, invasive vagus nerve stimulators, pacemakers, or non-active but potentially interacting with the nervous system, are considered contraindications. If you are unsure whether Nurosym is right for you, we always recommend consulting your doctor or health care practitioner. If you have any further questions or require assistance, please feel free to reach out. I will be glad to assist. Regards, Nurosym Team

@crodriguez121 The recommended treatment time is 60 minutes daily, but the maximum allowed usage is 90 minutes per day. You can split this into 2 x 30-minute or 2 x 45-minute sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The treatment can be done at any time of the day. However, we recommend the following: • Using the same time each day • Incorporating it into your daily routine and performing it in a relaxed state, not when driving or doing strenuous activities (i.e. hiking, working out). Does vagus nerve activation improve esophageal function?
@nurosym
5 ай бұрын
Vagus nerve activation has been linked to various effects on esophageal function. The vagus nerve plays a significant role in regulating the movement and function of the esophagus, including peristalsis (the coordinated muscle contractions that propel food through the esophagus) and sphincter tone (such as the lower esophageal sphincter that controls the passage of food into the stomach). Activation of the vagus nerve through techniques like vagal nerve stimulation or auricular stimulation has shown promise in modulating esophageal function, potentially improving conditions like gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or esophageal motility disorders. However, the specific effects can vary depending on individual factors and the underlying condition being treated. Help this for Tinnitus ?
@nurosym
3 ай бұрын
@sashschelle2774 While more research is needed, here's what we know so far. Tinnitus is a complex condition influenced by various factors, including auditory and non-auditory systems. The connection between the vagus nerve and tinnitus is primarily based on the nerve's role in regulating the body's internal environment and its influence on the brain's plasticity. Brain plasticity refers to the brain's ability to change and adapt as a result of experience, which is central to the development and treatment of tinnitus. Early studies on VNS therapy in tinnitus have shown promising results, with some patients reporting a decrease in the severity of their tinnitus symptoms. The effectiveness of VNS for tinnitus may depend on several factors, including the individual's specific condition, the duration and severity of tinnitus, and the precise parameters of the stimulation. Research in this area is ongoing, with studies aimed at better understanding the mechanisms by which VNS affects the brain and how it can be optimized for tinnitus treatment. Having said that, Nurosym has been used by several clinics specializing in Tinnitus as part of a more complex protocol. If you'd like to give Nurosym a try, we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee, meaning you can try Nurosym for 30 days and keep it or return it to receive a refund.
