Would you use the M23 21L for minimal travel at all? The 26L apparently holds more up to 40L-ish, which I'm thinking may be too massive for 4-5 days of travel.
@UnPackD
Күн бұрын
@@BiggDeli depends on your travel and packing style but for me I can absolutely fit 4 days worth of gear in it without even having to expand it. You can easily add 5-7 liters by expanding the lid. In my Dragonfly video I packed it out for 4 days of travel, I can fit all that in my M23 also.

@@UnPackD Appreciate the response! I just watched your Dragonfly video and we more or less pack the same for short trips. Thinking a shoe pouch can take place of the CAP2 in my case, and if that all fits in the M23 for you, should do the trick for me!

@@BiggDeli I think you’ll be good to go! And if you’re buying straight from Goruck you’ll have the free return option if it doesn’t fit your load out. I have seen some good deals on the second hand market. Tidal blue ones you can find for $130 and blacks ones I’ve seen as low as $160. Thanks for checking my videos, i appreciate you 🙏🏽

Hi! I do have 2 pieces July luggage- I also purchased one for my best friend who travels for work, and a light one for her daughter. I agree with you that it’s a beauty and though I don’t like branding, July makes it look fantastic. Use that extra bag for your shoes- and zip locks for your wet dirty beach wear… it’s practical and dump them in the washer when you get home. I enjoy your review - yeah, Lauren from It the Kelly’s is my go to reviewer!

@@indyglemaud8502 yeah Lauren’s reviews were very helpful for sure! Also how good are the wheels?! My larger checked luggage was still rolling buttery smooth even though it was loaded up to 49lbs. I was really impressed how easy it was to navigate through the airport and parking lots fully loaded.

Great bag and review but the price 😮 I’ve subscribed, thank you!
@UnPackD
Күн бұрын
@@FreyjaKat Yes the price is definitely steep. Since it’s still new I haven’t seen too many pop up yet on the used market but even then i suspect they will still go for $350-$400 USD used 😢. Just the 2 cobra buckles and 2 cobra ladder locks that are on the bag retail for close to $100 alone just in those 4 buckles, I think that’s also a driving factor on the high price.

The features seem really good, but looks like a really big (tall) bag. It think a 20l version would be the sweet spot.

Yes! I love the improvements to the new version but don’t know why they won’t offer a version with load lifters. The Atlas (pre cursor to the 36l dragonfly) had them. Maybe in a future update we’ll see it. 🤷🏽♂️

Love your presentation and channel man. But have to strongly disagree. This bag has more quick access than anything this side of a Tom Bihn maybe. Front zip has tons of room and easy to get to. Side Quick access is just that with perfectly placed organization. Has a side interior zip to get access to the inside without opening it up fully. Then the water bottle pocket is maybe slower than a typical sleeve style but wouldn’t say slow. Then, once you open it with 2 awesome fidlocks. You’re greeted with a quick top zip lid. Another top zippered compartment ready to grab what you need. And with all that, you still then have your carnivorous interior. I love mine as well. I have the 26L and again, it’s just a joy because everything has its place and is easily accessible.
@UnPackD

I agree with you! People shy away from top loaders because they feel it’s inconvenient and slower to grab things but to your point it’s absolutely accessible. The consensus I got online was 2 Fidlocks was too much work for most people 🤣🤣. This bag is well laid out and a joy to use. I think I want to upgrade to the 26L. Thanks for your feedback, it’s much appreciated and thanks for stopping by! Much love.

Good review man, I basically have the same edc items so it was really helpful to see how this bag would handle everything. After having cheaper made bags and even some that were supposedly “brand name” bags that broke and everything else, I’ve learned it’s better in the long run to spend a little more for a bag made with premium materials that will last a lot longer. Thanks for the review

How do you like this one vs the goruck m23? I'm eyeing both of them.
@UnPackD
11 күн бұрын
Wow that’s a tough one. They’re both similar in function but still different. The Bannoch is a bigger bag for sure and it feels much more luxurious. The canvas and the wide straps are comfortable and feel like it’s been broken in right out of the box. M23 feels more like a work horse, that can take a beating. It’s currently on sale and even at full price it’s still cheaper. I find GORUCK harnesses very comfortable but I’d say the Trakke is slightly better. Tough choice because you can also get the M23 in waxed canvas. If I had to pick I’d go Bannoch pro. The cobra buckles and classic look make it a win but there is no bad choice tbh.

It’s definitely a big bag in terms of both height and width. I’m 5’10 (178cm) and it fits me like a glove, not too big to be annoying and not so small where it looks like a child’s backpack lol. I feel do for shorter and smaller frame people, it might look like a bigger “travel” bag but not like you’ll be hiking for weeks on end.
