Great back to back comparisons. Using the same type of guitar makes it neutral, despite what some may think. Scale length and pickup placement on the guitar makes more difference than tone wood (which makes no diff). Now I have to decide which p/u I like better, each has their own sound and I like them all.

They all seem quite nice but the Lollars are great for the clean tones too. The Fender pickups seem lifeless to me and the Creamery nice but a little hot. It's hard to tell as it's not the same guitar that's used for the different pickups. What seems too hot on here might be more sound projection by the more resonant guitar. This means that the guy who is doing the comparison doesn't understand the simple fact that guitars have got different levels of resonance and you just can't compare pickups by placing them onto different guitars. Every guitar player should know this by the time they've been playing for just over 2-3 years, this guy is over 50 and still doesn't get it...

Fender wins. I'll take tone over output. Lollars have a nice tone, but I'm not interested in the wider frequency response. I'm interested in the character of the tone. Its fender. Thanks for the great video!!@

I’ve a Classic Series 72 and I hate the fact the neck pup is a fake WR! I’m tempted to replace it with a Fender CuNiFe WR.

Hi. I love this video, but could someone post the schematics used on these guitars? I'm unsure of whether to use 500k or 1Meg volume pots on my Telecaster reissue and any guidance would be helpful... (as an aside all three guitars really do sound fantastic. All are an improvement on the stock Telecaster Deluxe reissue tone) Thanks.

Such subtle differences. Any of these pickuos would be great. But if I had to choose, I like the sound of the fenders best.

I think the Fender sounded best, then the Creamery (which appeared to be slightly higher output). Now change them all into alternate guitars, and I think the Brown one will come out on top because I believe the difference is the guitars resonance more than the difference in pickups themselves. There may be slight noticeable differences in pickup sound, but not as much as pickup manufacturers would spin you to believe.

I still love this video. Absolutely perfect set up with three completely different amplifiers with three very good pickups manufacturers. Love Jamie’s creamerys. Very versatile but the original wrp’s through the messa high gain sounds fantastic.😎

creamery for me--i like the sparkle and definition. For wide range pickups, one test i always do is to set it to the pickup hit the low e string hard. It'll often feel a bit muted and toothless with wide ranges, but the creamerys are doing it for me

Sorry, but this is not a very good comparison. These are three completely different guitars. Of course the Fender is going to sound better. The 70's Tele Deluxe is one of the greatest guitars of all time. And it's not just the pickups that make it great. The only reasonable way to compare the pickups is to mount them in the same guitar.

I minimize my screen while listening. Set a timer on my phone , I track the times that I like while its playing! The results that I picked were all the same. And at the times that I wrote down tones I liked were all The creamery. Never experienced any pickups from them. That would be my only pick out of the 3.

The Fenders sound awesome, but I'd happily take the Lollars too. The Creamerys sound like run-of-the-mill humbuckers to me.

All 3 clean. All 3 driven. All 3 switch positions. Did you watch the video?
@digitalchris6681

Yes I did watch it. I stand by my comments: clean” doesn’t mean “lack of pedals” or selecting the “clean” channel: it means adjusting the guitar and amp settings to ensure the amp is not overdriven. Take just the first three comparisons: how can we tell what the Creamery pickups actually sound like when they are clipping the amp, whilst the Fenders do not?
@albionseed4866

If you read the the description, they are hot pickups. Did you see the very first comment from The Creamery???

Great demo. To me the Lollar sounds nearly identical - even though I’m guessing they’re not threaded CuNiFe magnets. The Creamery surprised as they are brighter over all. A bit more spanky with less mids. Better? I can decide which. They all sound good.

Creamery by far! Its sound like a strat on steroids. I got an starcaster reissue and i try lollars, but lindy frallin kick ass! Lollar has a lot of gain to me, so saturated. But man i never hear about creamery, i'll buy a pair of wide range for my thinline. Thanks for the video.
Considering you used 3 different guitars a fair comparison is out the window and useless. They each sounded great. The playing is good. But unless you use the same guitar why bother? It's a waste of energy time and air.

Lollards for me, thank you! The Fenders are nice, but there’s a warmth that it’s missing. The Creamerys are definately hotter, too hot for the nice clean tones these pickups seem to excel at. I can see why so many Fender guys swear them, and why they like the Fender version. But I just like what the Lollards bring out that they don’t.

the fenders sound the best, not that the others sound bad but theres a spongey, squeaky (i dont know how else to put what i hear into words) quality to the tone that i just love. the others are passable copies though and most except the nerdiest of tone freaks would understand what i am trying to say.
