Just landed yesterday June 30th 2023 after 4 years in China. Not necessarily a war but the past 3 years we had intense covid lock downs. China isn't a bad place, just forgot what American life was like. Feel blessed to be home

I like the line” first I did was kiss the ground”. We did. And we rolled and laughed and tackled each other and yelled Lord you can take me now. I swear I was born that day cause I knew I was going to die over there. Home from Vietnam. Sweetest day of my life.

"Those who wear the purple heart shall FOREVER be revered by their fellow countryman because they gave of their life blood in defense of our nation." [Emphasis mine] Quote maybe slightly different? General George Washington Boy do we need more men like him today! He was such a man of integrity. He ordered his troops to not only attend church, but to make sure they brought all their arms with them to church! "It is IMPOSSIBLE to govern rightly without God and the Bible." [Emphasis mine] He never took a penny when he was the President! I believe JFK and Trump didn't either. Oh Lord please help our rapidly declining land even though we are almost definitely being judged for our horrific national sins! Most of us should know what your Holy Word says about how we first need to repent and turn back to you before you will heal our land and bless it once again. I ask you to forgive me for sinning against you again in your precious Sons name. I pray for all those in authority whose job is to execute swift justice to the guilty. Please help us to stop pointing fingers of blame in every direction and to first examine our own hearts. Lastly I pray for all the brave men and women in uniform who risk their lives every day for us. Amen

There's a certain look that veterans have, many will never understand, its like we can tell with that 1000 yard stare and the distance we tend to keep in public, I cannot be around large groups of people and must always be in control of my whereabouts, the wolf is always at the door.

I’ll never forget after coming home, walking downtown with my wife. A car backfired and instinctively I dove for cover pulling my wife with me. People stared at me strangely as I dusted myself off, but my wife understood that this would probably happen a few more times in the future. I adjusted well in time, but many of my peers did not unfortunately.

To this day I refuse to allow anyone to disrespect our flag if I’m there.. not trying to sound tough.. the last person I walked up to them and simply said you know how many people died so you could have the freedom to do that?? Anywhere else you’d in prison or shot have some respect for those that gave the ultimate sacrifice so we can live how we do and if you don’t agree live somewhere else

Adrian Cronauer : That's not the fucking point! You understand me? I fought to get you into that bar! And then you blow the fucking place up! Listen... I gave you my friendship... and my trust! And now they tell me that my best friend is the goddamn enemy! Tuan : [in tears, showing himself] ENEMY? What is enemy? You killing my own people so many miles from your home. We not the enemy! You the enemy! Adrian Cronauer : [tersely] You used me to kill two people! Two people DIED in that fucking bar! Tuan : Big fucking deal! My mother is dead. And my older brother, who be 29 years old, he dead! Shot by Americans! My neighbor, dead! His wife, dead. WHY? Because we're not human to them! We're only little Vietnamese... and I'm stupid enough to save your bullshit life at An Lac.

In the post Trump world. anyone who joins the military knows they are only serving to enrich arms manufactures and to provide private malicious clandestine crooks with power. Never again will I call a man whom I have no respect for sir..m Never again will I own boots with fkkn laces. I joined in 03 to hunt cave men. I thought the gov was dumb not wicked. I regret that helped carry out their will.
