Pop Windibank has the funniest joke in GAA, he’s also an absolute unit who valiantly defended his shop and Gina from the Skulkin Twins. Literally threw one of them over the counter. He does not deserve this slander

Even if it voluntarily look like it should be played between 5-2 and 5-3 do not play in that order because its as long as a final case and playing it after case 1 and 2 of dual destinies who are not interesting and plot important will just make you tired of the game

I agree with most of these but not with Lauren Paups and Espella. I agree that it would be better if Espella just rung the bell. But I feel like it doesnt change her character if this plot would be different. But like you said at the beginning, its very subjective. For me personally... (trigger incoming) Apollo Justice is my most annoying character of the series. And thats very based. I know this. But I feel like all his backstory (and there is A LOT) just didnt help me build a connection to him. He feels so generic to me.. still... after all these games. Most of the main characters have a very distinctive personality in my opinion. But Apollo... at least for me... is kinda boring when it comes to his character and feels more like fitting into phoenix's shoe's without getting too far away from him.

Fun fact, Capcom was gonna have Larry in 2-4, but replaced him with Lotta because of cartridge space limitations. That explains why he appeared in the anime version of 2-4

I love how your avatar is represented by Pheonix Wright in a purple suit. Not even an OC, just plain ol' Pheonix Wright in a different suit color, and it works. Anyways, DD is my second favorite game of the entire hexology, so hearing all about the thing that has a HUGE part in that game is amazing. Also, just for fun, here's my ranking of the Ace Attorney hexology, from best to worst: 1. Apollo Justice 2. Dual Destines 3. Pheonix Wright 4. Trials and Tribulations 5. Justice For All 6. Spirit of Justice

Holy shit!! Are you me??? My rankings are the same (although I kinda consider JfA and T&T to be interchangable, same with AA1 and DD) My dislike of SoJ stems from how much of a safe game it is. My love for AA4 and 5 is mostly based on their emphasis on introducing new ideas and subverting established concepts. SoJ felt more regurgitative, far too many old concepts are reintroduced, to the point where I mostly just recognize it as an audience pleaser for fans of the old games. It's the coward of the series.
@PearangeProductions

@@tseglun584 SoJ honestly kinda feels like that for me, too, but that's not the main reason why it's the lowest for me. The main reason is because it feels like the story of the game wasn't made for Pheonix Wright. It feel more like it was made for Maya or Pearl, if I'm being honest.

The thing about Stickler is that he's clearly meant to be someone to laugh at, not with. His goofy goals and demeanor totally work for me and his sprites are extremely funny. Though I've never really gotten why so many people are uncomfortable with the panty jokes. If it were men's underwear would people react differently? I hope not.

All because of the infamous "No Spoiler" rule because of Yamazaki, i'm more or less throwing away any cases involving previous Ace Attorney games especially Investigation 1 & 2. The corruption is huge in AAI1 & 2 no doubt about it, but it never got mentioned anywhere after, heck the characters are gone too like Sebastian Debeste & Kay Faraday... After watching this, looks like i need to play the 2nd trilogy to refresh my memory about the cases..... Great video as always

For number 7: Manny Coachen somehow left a worse mark than Kazuma (TGAA, specifically game 1) When he only got one or two cases?! And they are both important! How can 1 guy have more of an impression In one or two cases than A GUY IMPORTANT TO ALL FIVE CASES OF A GAME, AND IS BEHIND BASICALLY EVERYTHING IN THAT SAME GAME?! AND THEY ARE BOTH VICTIMS!

I couldn’t help but run what if scenarios in my head for if the judge was actually competent. Quite a few cases only last because of how gullible and naïve the judge is, and even Phoenix’s disbarment could’ve been avoided if the judge was actually competent.

Not going to lie, pretty valid choices. April May being the 1st red herring and she’s put in a case where they TELL you the killer. I’m surprised to see a few in here. But it’s a pretty good list! 1 a game is a pretty good strategy too. If I were to pick one a game, I would probably swap Courtney Sithe for the 2 red headed doofuses in case 9. I’d still choose Ben and Trilo. And I HAVE to pick from the i1-3 trio for my investigations 1 pick. Probably Lance. But Manny Coachen is VERY justified

I just saw the anime adaptation of 2-4, and I think it’s a very bad one. Having Celeste be Adrian’s sister is okay, as is replacing Lotta with Larry, and replacing the cassette tape with a CD, but having the forged suicide note be real made absolutely no sense to me, and neither did removing Adrian’s moment, when she revealed how toxic that rivalry was between Matt and Juan. The anime is short enough as it is, even with fillers. There’s no reason to remove one of the most emotional moments in the series.

For Pop Windibank and his gun touting, I personally found it funny in the way I think it was meant to, that is to say an incredibly unnecessary escalation both in-universe and out by his part. The fact that Windibank clearly shows how quickly he stops and acts like it never happened as soon as Sholmes apologizes certainly helped me enjoy it. That and his interaction with Gina really showed how well adjusted he truly was. Maybe one of the most sincere straight men beyond his gun touting facade. It does really seem to me that he was just fucking with the self important Sholmes. It could also be a culture thing where some societies are more used to this kind of dark humor, Japan being a good possible example of this. It’s not making light of actual suicide, which the games do take very seriously when it’s actually on the table.

Asinine attorney will not be covered by us because we want to cover the raw story and character writing of this franchise and prove it’s a franchise that should be replayed. And while I get the appeal for us doing it. It’s just a fun time that we don’t want to delve too deeply into. Partially for our sanity sake as well.

It should be noted that cases 1-5 and 2-4 have special bad endings. For 1-5 it’s if you present the piece of cloth before Gant admits to taring it off, and for 2-4 if you don’t present the final evidence exactly as required to out Engarde as a traitor. I got the latter by accident, in picking De Killer in his bellboy outfit instead of his actual profile. Good thing I had a prepared save state for it, because of the “Justice Ill Served” achievement

I interpret the Dark Age of the Law as just Capcom's attempt to expand/flesh out the world of Ace Attorney. Despite all the comically evil bullshit that happens throughout the original trilogy (everything from von Karma to Damon Gan), none of really had a visible impact on public opinion. Not that there COULDN'T have been an impact, there very well probably was, but PW:AA just failed to account for the whole "how does the public react to this?" angle of the world of AA. This is the reason why AA4 has the whole MASON system plotline that was retconned in DD and beyond - it was Capcom's proto-Dark Age of the Law, that ultimately was just fundamentally too shallow for what Capcom was aiming for, and so the Dark Age of the Law plotline in DD was born - it's purpose wasn't necessarily to retcon and replace the Mason system plotline, but rather, it was Capcom's attempt at expanding it. That's also probably why the whole Definant Dragons theme in SoJ is so prevalent - it's another spin on the Mason system/Dark Age of the Law, a natural continuation. People went from being fed up with a legal system, to actively rebelling against one. Honeslty, now I'm curious if Capcom is going to go anywhere further with this plotline. The Defiant Dragons arc was, although a bit contrived, a great place to end the whole Dark Age of the Law shit, so maybe we're going to see something entirely different in AA7?
