Extremely late and probably no hope but I have a seat out just like this and I need to rewire it so I can adjust it for a sim rig, any advice on how to splice into it safely?

There are 2 nut at the bottom front on the seat slide rails Turning one will go forward ( as if tightening the nut) the other will move the seat back. Don't try to "loosen" the nut. They only turn one way. Hope this helps. LMK

These can be unusually difficult to break loose. I did try a chain type gripper in the past, but ended up breaking it. Of course with any automotive job, your experience may vary.

I just throw a socket and breaker bar on it, crank the engine with the key for a sec. Then the breaker will hit the ground and break loose the bolt.
@transportationdisasterprev6250

I've tried this method on several 2jz engines and rarely works. These crank bolt are notorious for being difficult to remove. Toyota has a special tool that is essentially a 3 foot breaker bar. The old "turn the engine" trick is dangerous and I would never recommend it

I may have misspoke on the video. One side will move the seat forward. The other l, backwards. I hadn't realized til after the video that a part was broken on this seat. You should turn either nut as if you are tightening the nut to turn the shift. Hope this helps

@@transportationdisasterprev6250 are you saying when you feel that you are tightening the bolt to switch to the other side and tighten that one?
@transportationdisasterprev6250
2 жыл бұрын
@@Dumpstakilla you should turn either bolt as if you are "tightening " it. (Righty tighty) one will move the seat forward, the other backward. Be sure the seat isn't seized. the adjustment screws that run along the seat frame like to get rusty. You may have to pull or push on the seat while turning these bolts to get it to move. Hope this helps 🤘

had to put a "dent" in the lower inboard part of air box to clear passenger valve cover. used thin sheet of aluminium from a soda can to patch the area I had to modify. just cut off the top and bottom of can, cut a slit up the side and voila! cheap tough, moldable :)

had to modify HVAC box, valve covers wouldn't clear. or remove air box before install. radiator fan shroud won't clear due to 455 deck height. other than that pretty much bolt up
