Btw when it comes to the 'Distance' figures actual physical distances are of little if any importance. What the receiver measures is the time it takes the audio to reach the mic. This time is used to calculate the amount of delay the receiver needs to apply to the associated channels. Your room's acoustics and furnishings can effect the time audio takes to reach the mic so the distance it reports is correct when treating it as an amount of delay as opposed to an actual physical distance.

I don't believe so. You can run ypao in multiple positions and it'll use all data for adjustments. you might want to take measurements somewhere in the middle of the two positions.

To me, this AVR looks Top notch. but I can imagine this unit is not meant for the "average user" You have to have a clear understanding of Crossovers. DSP. and endless other factors to make this work perfectly at your home. I imagine it can take a while to get to know this receiver. I just bought mine 2 weeks ago. still in the box due to renovations before setting up all my speakers. BTW. I have a question. I have a pair of Polk audio tower speakers that have a build in sub. I have an option for Bi-wiring. but when I was using my vintage Onkyo from 1998. it worked fine. do I have to change the crossover setting for the front at 20hz with this A6A? Thanks for the helpful vid.
@johnferraro3990
Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. When you biwire the speaker from the receiver, the receiver sends the same full band signal through each set of wires. Your speaker should have an internal crossover that'll send the right signals to the right drivers. I'd set the crossover about 20hz over the lowest freq your speakers can reproduce.

@@johnferraro3990 Thanks for the advice. sorry for not responding quickly since I was doing some heavy renovations for a home theater. but I've got to be honest. I'm a bit disappointed with Yamaha. I had an old flagship Onkyo from 1997. and I have to say. the Onkyo sound is by far better than the new Yamaha. Although it doesn't have HDMI or Bluetooth or Dolby Atmos. I should have listened to reviewers who were saying the Yamaha has a sort of flat sound. no body to the sound. even the bass on the Onkyo is by far more pronounced. using the same identical speakers. Btw. I have tried the YAPO celebration. but the sound is just too flat. I hope Yamaha comes up with a firmware update. Thanks

A note on the crossover when the Front speakers are set to Large; my previous Yamaha receiver allowed me to set Front to Large, Extra Bass to On and also set the Base Crossover.
