Saw these guys last night at Oxford. It was just brilliant, so much fun and Eddi has not lost it at all....Great new songs too. 👏

Im more of a soul & dance man (and a bit of rock too) BUT boi i love this song , such an uplifting positive tune. In the late '80s it was a breath of fresh air when the charts were dominated by either bubblegum pop or more aggressive sounds. Pop-folk revival could only happen in this period as you also had Edie Brickell & The New Bohemians (who were kind of similar to FA) , Tracy Chapman, Steve Earle & Tanita Tikaram making inroads at the same time frame

Very disappointed. How could they sing 'Perfect' out of key for the first bar and have to restart? It's one of their prime songs! What were they doing in rehearsals? It clearly wasn't enough!

@@MadCatPerson1977 I get your point, but I think the band deserves more credit. Even with the second start for ‘Perfect,’ they brought great energy and made it a really fun night overall. Mistakes happen, but the performance was still enjoyable and full of spirit!

I just received my autographed LP and CD "Beautiful Happening" by Fairground Attraction!! I'm in a state of stupid happy right now. Fairground Attraction got a ton of air play in the US round about the end of the 1980s. That and MTv (when it was a cool, music video oriented channel) introduced me to this amazing group. "Perfect" became the backgound song for my mid teens. Their new album is stellar! It's more than I thought it was going to be! "What's Wrong With The World?" is beautiful track and a very timely question, all things considered. "You can change the mirror, but not the reflection" . So very true. Their new album is awesome. I love how they've matured as a group Eddi's voice has become so soft and sweet. It reminds me of those moments I've kicked my shoes off, relaxed into my lazyboy, nursing a small glass of cool port wine, feelin like I'm the grooviest guy on Earth. Man, this album is beautiful. GO GET YA ONE! It'll be so worth it for ya. 😎✌

I use to love singing to this when I was driving the staff car park bus ( the yellow peril) at Gatwick airport in 1987 - 1990 on a Saturday and Sunday for KF Cars at Concorde House! Great times and good fun, PURFECT!! Gatwick Airport British Airports Authority 1990-2005 was a happy place to work back then.😊😂👍

Most people who weren't around then probably don't realize what a breath of fresh air this song was when it came out! So many bands at the time were so serious and certainly never smiled or laughed in videos (or photos!) and catchy, folk style pop was almost unheard of. It sounded light and airy and CHEERFUL and put a spring in one's step. If you're a serious teen or twentysomething now, please please remember that it's ok to smile and laugh, be innocent and have a jig around the room!

Ironically, I was pulling out my archived albums and thought of how much I enjoyed Fairground Attraction. On a whim, I looked up anything online about the group and was elated to learn that just this month, September 2024, they have NEW MUSIC! I am overjoyed that they still have the sound and style that makes this group one of my all time favorites. Great work!
