Stationed on the Mars 86 -89 some of the best memories ever!

My name is Ken Tuohey. I put this video together in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I was a Staff Sergeant in the USAF. THE QUALITY was never great because it was edited on Hi8 on a Sony EVO 9700 edit deck from deck to deck. The generation loss was terrible with that format. It wasn’t part of any assignment. It was just something I wanted to do as a tribute to the men and women I served with and documented during both Desert Shield/Desert Storm. I’m 60 now, and it’s amazing to see that people can still enjoy it. I still have about 35-40 hi8 tapes with footage I shot with General Schwarzkopf during his visit to Kuwait during the cease fire. We toured the highway of death, the place, and the Kuwaiti Central Intelligence building where tortures had take place by the Iraqi soldiers. Thanks for watching!!!!😊

My dad was right next to the explosion and was one of the first three people to jump into action. Looking for anyone who may have known him, I’ll have to find the old newspaper article to see what his rank was at the time. J. Ellis.

My father was aboard the USS Tripoli, 1950-53. Off the coast of Keira, China. Sorry to say my father was a very hard man, couldn’t ever say he loved any of his 11 kids, he was a very mean man, again sorry to say he beat his kids very frequently, we were all afraid of him. Even at the end of his life, he was pitiful, I often thought that something very wrong happened to him and his generation, born 1931. At 64 yrs old myself and my siblings have PTSD. From dad’s actions.

Wow, I remember this video. I don't remember who made it but they got footage from multiple ships and combat units as well as news and put it together. This was on ships all over the fleet. I had this on VHS till someone borrowed it and left it on their dash in the New Orleans summer heat..lol.

I have this video at home too! Thunderstruck is the perfect soundtrack for it. My uncle, CDR Mark Jensen, USN (SH-60 LAMPS Pilot at the time) was the first American shot at in the Gulf War. Iraqis took pot-shots from an oil rig in the gulf at his Seahawk. A few min. later they saw the Tomahawk incoming, jumped overboard, and were the first to get “thunderstruck”...
